Much more accessible (to me!) as an audiobook! (0 more)
Audiobook version
This was my second attempt at this book. The first time, I tried to read it and gave up. Several years later, I found it on my library's audiobook app. I glad that I tried it: it really made me laugh, and I give all the credit for that to the excellent narrator, Ron McLarty. It's a very strange story, after all, there are a great deal of drugs involved - and you can tell! I have to admit, it doesn't make me want to visit Las Vegas anytime soon! I'm not so sure that this was the desired outcome....

Stuff you Missed in History Class is all the things I wish I would have actually learned in school. From the stories you think you have already heard to things you would not think to look into this podcast covers them all. In the coverage, the overviews are often more informative then hours in the classroom. I love listening to Tracy and Holly tell the well-researched and well thought outlines full of what is promised history. This podcast leaves out most of the personal feelings of the hosts, which is very nice as well. Episode suggestions: New England Vampire Panic and Building Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion.

Absolutely fantastic. A beautiful showcase of how our decisions shape our lives, and how hope and acceptance can make all the difference.

When I read My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry, it was an instant favorite.

I read this because I enjoyed that book so much, but I didn’t expect at all for this book to become a favorite as well. At this point, I’d read the author’s grocery lists if he publishes them. His books give me exactly the feelings I look for from a book, where you can curl up and lose yourself in the emotion.

I completely recommend it.

I received this book from Edelweiss+ in exchange for an honest review.

The highlight of this book is obviously the photos. You can tell that Chuck Rineer is a phenomenal photographer. He was able to show the personality of each wolf that he photographed. It was wonderful to experience those photos & I will have to follow his social media pages so that I don't go through withdrawal. I enjoyed the photographs but the writing was a bit bland. I would have loved to learn more about the wolves but the writing didn't do the wolves justice.

All in all, this will be a great coffee table book to flip through.

Wow. This was my first time watching this classic film. Of course I watched the three and a half-hour version of this film, because it was the way Kurosawa intended for his audience to watch it. But let me tell you. This movie used all three and a half hours perfectly. There is not a wasted moment in this entire film. It is quite easy to see why this is considered to be one of the best films ever made, and it is also easy to see exactly how it influenced all of the other films that have come since. I highly recommend it.
