David McK (3752 KP) rated Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage - Season One in TV
Apr 6, 2026
Running from 2007 to 2019, The Big Bang Theory (TBBT) was an American sitcom that focused - initially - on a group of Scientist Friends in Pasadena.
From them, the character of Sheldon Cooper was probably the breakout star.
So much so, that he got his own spin-off in the sitcom 'Young Sheldon', which started airing towards the end of TBBT.
From that, Sheldon's older brother Georgie Cooper had perhaps the best storyline towards the end of its own run.
A storyline that is picked up in this, with Georgie married to Mandy (10 years his senior) and struggling to raise his young family in late 80s, early 90s Texas,
Like Young Sheldon before it, I never found it as laugh-out-loud funny as TBBT - amusing, yes, but not laugh out loud.
I'll still watch more of it.

Tired of running from her past, nurse Kate Callison intends to become Austin Grace Hospital’s permanent ER director and make Texas her home. Despite staff friction, she’s moving ahead. Then unthinkable tragedy wraps the ER in crime tape, bringing swarms of media, legal chaos—and a search-and-rescue hero who seems determined to meddle in her life.
For Wes Tanner, nothing beats finding someone who’s lost; he’s known that helpless terror firsthand. So he’ll expand his team’s lifeline of hope: K9 tracking, swift water rescue, even horse-mounted searches. He’s ready for anything—except Austin Grace’s prickly and dismissive ER director.
As Kate and Wes discover more about each other, new respect becomes something deeper. Kate wonders if her heart might have finally found a home. Then an unsolved missing persons case—and a startling new one—become catalysts that threaten the loss of all she and Wes have found.

Ruth Frampton (577 KP) rated Texas Monsters in Books
Apr 10, 2018
If you live in or near Texas, have family from there or are just plain curious about the places to visit there, this book is a great way of introducing little ones to that environment. Based on the task of searching for monsters this book encourages readers to use their observational skills to look for and find the "cute" monsters. I say "cute" as to prevent my little one from getting the idea that monsters are everywhere I made them out to be cute, monsters in the cupboard and under the bed are enough for us thanks. Some of the monsters were easier to find than others which allow for a longevity for the title that is not always found in this type of search and find book. All in all, a worthwhile book to get those little ones curious about the world around them.
Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2518 KP) rated Killer Jam (A Dewberry Farm Mystery, #1) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Investigative reporter Lucy Resnick has bought the farm – that is her grandparent’s farm outside the small town of Buttercup, Texas. However, just days after learning that the previous owner, Nettie Kocurek, retained the mineral rights in the sale and intends to drill for oil, Nettie is stabbed. With the police focusing on the outsider – Lucy – she has to act find to find the real killer.
This is a fun series debut filled with great characters and a fun small town that I really grew to love. The plot did blog down a little in the second quarter, but it soon started back up with plenty of twists and surprises to keep me confused until the end.
NOTE: I was sent an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
