I enjoyed this movie. The actors were all good choices, and the effects were great- for the most part. The movie was definitely influenced by the book, but did not stick close to the book. The choice to not stick close to the book could be seen as a wise one, as the director/ producer probably wanted it to be relatable for the viewers. The problems I had with the movie, was the time period, that they took strong women characters and made them weak, and that the Uncle was hiding his powers. The time period was a few decades earlier in the book, which helped explain the main characters quirks a bit better than the movie did. The women in the movie got the "Women in the Refrigerator" treatment. Meaning the two big women roles, who in the book were highly powerful, were lowered in their abilities in the movie. The neighbor witch to the main character, was elderly and was more powerful than the Uncle was and never had a curse put on her in the book and didn't have a romantic relationship with the Uncle. Also, Selena was the one who was summoned in the book and was the main baddie, while in the movie they teamed her up with her husband effectively making her character useless. Another point, the magicians and witches in the books didn't hide their powers, magic was meant for anyone to learn or study. In the movie, magic is hidden and only for a select few. I did love the part were the demon showed up, it was very freaky and made what was meant to be a kids movie into a "uh...well that was disturbing," kind of dark tone to the show. I love Eli Roth's films, but he could have done a little bit more with this than he did.

Will he be able to overcome Isis' infamous temper and convince her to not only become his ally, but ultimately, his mate?
This was a mega quick read for me. I really like this series which is ever so similar to another popular series! I love to see these ancient species find their fated mates it’s a formula well used and enjoyable when done right! My only bug bear was the power of 3 comments as a huge Charmed fan it kinda drove me crazy! Fabulous for those fantasy fans that love some hot sex scenes with fated mates and lots of paranormal activity.

This story is full of action from beginning to end as Elizabeth learns who to trust and who needs to be destroyed.
At the beginning of the book there was a particular reference to something that felt inappropriate for young readers, however the remainder is exactly what the reader expects to find within this genre. Underneath the magical storyline is a message that urges readers not to jump to conclusions and be judgmental, particularly about things that they do not fully understand. Substitute magic for mental illness, disabilities or different cultures, and you have something that readers of all ages can relate to today.
<i>Witch Hunter</i> is the first in what promises to be an incredible series by the author Virginia Boecker. Although the key issue was resolved within this first book there is an even larger issue that still needs settling. Readers who enjoy this novel will be eagerly waiting to find out what Elizabeth and her new friends do next.

Union is the second book in the Torsere series and we return to Nykin and Ryneq as they prepare for Cerylea's marriage to Morkryn, prince of the Elves. This is a series with an overall story arc so I would absolutely recommend you read them in order so it all makes sense.
The action this time takes place in Alel with the Elves and we get to see what a magical place they live in. We also reunite with Faelon and Avelor and find out more about the bond between Fimor, Faelon, and Nykin. It's not just love in the air as Seran is still out for blood, this time recruiting a dark witch to make things more complicated.
I loved returning to this world. I still adore Nykin and Ryneq and love how they have their responsibilities before each other but it doesn't stop them from enjoying themselves whenever possible! They are both learning to live with each other and what compromises need to be made. Ryneq is trying to keep a lid on his jealousy and possessiveness but it's not always easy. Nykin is making more of an effort to see things from Ryneq's perspective and seeing how things aren't as easy as he thought, if you are Consort or King of the Realm!
This series continues to delight and I really can't wait for the final in this amazing trilogy!
