This is one of those books where you can read it so easily and quickly but at the same time not a lot seems to happen. Admittedly, that end bit has intrigued me with just who was the male voice on the end of that phone. One of two, possibly three, people. And since i have book 2 just waiting to go, I'm jumping straight into it.

This has been on my to read list for over three years. I'm so glad I read it, I have some knowledge of people on the autistic spectrum, though I'm by no means an expert. Cathy brings her warmth, kindness and understanding to Danny and his parents as she does all of those she works with, and the results she gets are spot on!

Flash Gordon (1980)
1980 | Action, Comedy, Sci-Fi
Post-Star Wars high-camp reimagining of the famous Alex Raymond sci-fi comic strip. Ming the Merciless, Emperor of the planet Mongo, terrorises the Earth; a mad scientist, a football player and a travel agent rocket themselves into space in an attempt to make him knock it off.

One of those movies where the ostensible leads are the least well-known people in it - everyone else has a great time overacting: the gold medal goes to Brian Blessed, who steals the entire movie as Vultan, Prince of the Hawk People. Visually lavish, with a strong script, lots of well-staged action for younger viewers, and tongue-in-cheek jokes aplenty for older people who ought to know better. Point knocked off for some inappropriately nasty violence; put straight back on again for Queen's soundtrack.

The Matrix (1999)

"The same could be said about The Matrix movies, all three. A lot of people will be like, “Well, no, just the first one, because the other two weren’t to my fancy.” I liked all three because I like the entire story. What a unique concept that the world is completely fake, and amazing to think that machines could be running things, as I sit here and talk into a machine recorder. It’s just a really forward-thinking concept. I thought it was wonderfully done, and certainly a movie that, from an effects standpoint, changed the way people made movies. It’s one of those movies where people were wowed by the effects, but I think they took a back seat to what a wonderful story it was. It was such a fantastic story."
