What a fantastic book!
I Loved Jody Hedlund's take on this classic fairytale. It was beautifully done, and really was not that similar to the original story which I enjoyed as the original is not my favorite. Both main characters were detailed and well laid out, with fun and interesting twists that kept me engaged. Highly recommend read this one if you like stories of love, hope, and finding who you are.

This was a very unique set of stories filled with lots of different twists and turns. A very diverse group of characters, that give everyone someone they can relate to. All of the books were fun stories, I do wish they were longer so we could get to know the characters more but they were still good :) Plus I found a couple new authors I like.

Mixed thoughts on this one! I love the concept and I love that it's Irish because I really need to support more Irish writers but something about it was just a little off. It was long but I feel like certain parts could have been longer and more in-depth but it's a lovely story and I wasn't expecting it to end the way it did but I'm happy it did! Gave me big About Time vibes so if you love that movie I'm sure you'll love this too!

Nicole Krauss' long awaited fourth novel is, to my mind her best yet. In this book, Krauss gives us parallel stories of two characters that travel from New York to Tel Aviv, while neither of them ever meets the other. Despite these disconnected tales, Krauss leads us to draw our own comparisons and contrasts with what she both reveals from and hides underneath their adventures. Read more about my thoughts about this book, which could very well be Krauss' masterpiece, in my review here. https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2017/07/22/two-paths-that-never-converge/

I liked some things in this, and others not so much.
Michelle's way of talking was very realistic, a French woman speaking English isn't likely to have the perfect grasp and she didn't; it was very authentic and I liked it.
I also liked the authors way of describing the thoughts of people around them that they could hear and how they were thinking about realistic things.
Things I wasn't so fond of: the storyline. Bent cops wanting to get their own back on a woman who humiliated them. Just seems a little overkill.

Dr. Paul Kersey is an experienced trauma surgeon, a man who has spent his life saving lives. After an attack on his family, Paul embarks on his own mission for justice.
Was it ridiculous? Yes. Was it amazingly entertaining? Also, yes. It does what it says on the tin basically. Bruce Willis doing what we love him doing... shooting people... a lot. There's honestly not much more to say about it. Good action movie, that will leave you having second thoughts about ever using your onboard sat-nav again.
