Typical Gothic Tim Burton (2 more)
Amazing visually
Great locations
Peculiar indeed
A decent film with a good cast, good Sfx and amazing locations. A strange story but if you like something a bit darker and peculiar than normal, you'll like this.

This was a moving story about three school friends - one of whom goes into cardiac arrest on New Year’s Eve. Kerry begins CPR immediately, Tim freezes and finds himself unable to help, which is inconvenient as they both want to go to medical school. But when the paramedics arrive, Tim has at last started to help (even though Kerry has worked alone for about 15 minutes) and takes the praise as well as Kerry.
It’s here Tim starts to realise that being a doctor may not be what he thought it would be.
Kerry’s life takes a turn when she fails her A Levels, and Joel finds it hard to accept his heart condition and the changes he has to make in his life.
I liked that each of the characters had the chance to tell their story in alternating chapters. These characters experienced addiction, depression and other health conditions, and the main theme of the story, Joel’s heart condition, is revisited often. As are the mechanics of CPR, and it’s pointed out by the author that a persons life is more likely to be saved if you at least try.
This is a lovely, and often moving story. I really enjoyed it.

Great story
It's already a second book by this author, that I read and I really enjoyed it.
Tim Blake's teenage daughter goes missing and when he enquires about her at her summer job, he's told by staff, that no one with this name ever worked there. Brilliantly written story, that keeps you guessing. I recommend it to anyone, who likes a bit of a mystery ?

Cute love stort
I love anything by Tim Burton, but the music and story in this movie has me swooning everytime. I am all for a good love story, but it definitely was different than most love stories out there. I couldn't help but fall in love with it. Not to mention the music will have you choking up a bit with emotion. With Burton's animating style and wonderful way to tell a story, there is no way you can absolutely hate it.

Amazing Sfx, especially for the Horseman
Great Gothic film
I love this film! It's a perfect mix of horror, comedy and action. It has a good story, strong cast and great SFX. Lucky enough to have seen it at the cinema and have watched it loads of times since! One of Tim Burton's best films.

A creative and fun slice of early Tim Burton with the director beginning to establish his signature blend of dark humour and gothic landscapes populated by weird creatures. The quirky story and (due to their fantastical nature) the special effects still hold up well today , Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis also make for likeable leads but Michael Keaton of course steals the show in the title role ( even if I was surprised by how little screen time he actually has). This isn’t Tim Burton’s best film but you can certainly see his talent starting to develop and this is a fun little romp.
Gareth von Kallenbach (962 KP) rated The Boss Baby (2017) in Movies
Jul 12, 2019
Tim (voiced by Tobey Maguire) is a very imaginative child. He is an only child. very loved by his Mom (voiced by Lisa Kudrow) and Dad (voiced by Jimmy Kimmel). They put him to bed with as many stories as he wants and even sing his special song. Tim lives a life of bliss as the apple of their eyes. His idyllic life falls apart overnight.
Mom and Dad no longer have time for Tim’s bedtime rituals. No more books, story time and most of all…no Tim’s special song! At least, not for him. The Boss Baby (Voiced by Alec Baldwin) has taken over the house and everyone’s lives. This baby is getting all of the attention. When it seems that Mom and Dad have a moment, they are asleep.
As Mom and Dad snooze, Tim discovers that the baby can talk. This is not an ordinary baby, his brother is The Boss Baby, a secret agent sent to infiltrate Puppy Co to find out how to stop the top secret project. At first Tim and Boss Baby are at odds.
They realize, in order to get what they want (Tim, to be an only child again and The Boss Baby wants the promotion to the top spot), they need to work together. The competitive nature of the sibling dynamic is hilarious and the development of their relationship as they learn to like each other has some sweet moments.
Dreamworks based this film on the 2010 children’s book from Marla Frazee of the same title. The adaptation fleshes out the story, introducing us to the family dynamic. We also learn that the Boss Baby is there to stop the nefarious Francis Francis (voiced by Steve Buscemi) and his evil plot. Boss Baby, with his baby crew and Tim, plan to save the day.
The Actors voice the characters so well, I was immersed in the story and characters. There were more than a few laughs and one snort laugh. It is an animated feature I would definitely recommend as a go see.

Had me Hooked
This was the first of Tim Weavers books that I read, although it is actually the 4th Book in the series, and I loved it so much, I went and bought the rest. The Hero is the kind of guy you want in your corner. He doesn't let anything, or anyone, get in the way of doing his best for the people who need him. No matter how much danger he finds himself in, he will always complete what has been asked of him, even if the result isn't what was hoped for. Tim writes in such a way that you can see the story through the hero's eyes, you want him to find out the truth, and feel good when he does. I wholeheartedly recommend Tim Weaver books to anyone who likes a good crime/thriller, he will not let you down, as he draws the picture in his words, and lets you see the tale unfold.

Seriously. Some movies just are so timeless and amazing that a typical rating system doesn't do them justice.
Danny Elfman's singing and composition is amazing. This clearly feels "Tim Burton-y" and yet he didnt actually make it... He produced it of course. But this was a hit no one has been able to repeat.
