When Pitch Black threatens to return, bringing noting but misery, fear and nightmares with him, the team are sent a new recruit, the mischievous Jack Frost (who has a long running feud with The Easter Bunny). This is the final book in the trilogy and although it does wrap somethings up it kinda leaves a "that's it?" feeling. The characters do not seem to develop any more than they did in the second book except Marco whom I hated throughout the series. Usually the concluding book in a trilogy is the biggest because all the revelations that come but this was the shortest. I think this could have been done as two books instead of three and ended stronger. That said I suggest you read all three together for the best experience.

Well hmmm. I started reading this book not quite sure what to expect. Like a few of the reviews I've seen, I too thought it started off a tad slow & a bit off. But somewhere in the middle I got hooked. Not quite sure when or where or even why, but at some point it got very interesting. It was hard to follow & suddenly it made sense. Weird, I know. But apparently that's just Neil Gaiman being Neil Gaiman. The ending tied everything together well. I think I may even give another of his books a try!

Great first series, extremely dark
If you watch the first series DO NOT watch the second series which is a total let down in comparison. The partnership between Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson is absolutely stellar, acting at its highest level. The story is hideously dark, and the two actors, who are fatally flawed, are completely perfect for the role. It surrounds a serial killer who murders young girls in a cult-like fashion, and the coming together of these two detectives after many years to try and finally solve it. A really well done first series.

Slick cinematography, dark tales
This film's graphic novel style cinematography is original, effective and beautiful to behold. The black and white effect with certain colours highlighted reminded me of looking at old style comics. The multiple stories that mesh together are all extremely dark, from serial murders to molestation and exploitation, it's Rated R for a very good reason. And while the Tarantino style gore can be surprisingly easy on the eye especially in black and white, it seemed extreme at times, filmed for the sake of being violent.

This was so good, I really enjoyed it!! I liked how each chapter was told from the other person's perspective, either Edward or Zoey, and we got to see how each may have experienced the same thing on the same day but differently. This is a story of how two people losing their child have to grieve separately and kind of find out who they are again as individuals before they can come back together as a couple. It took them literally losing in each other in another country before they could truly appreciate what they had. Great read!

This was so good! I loved all the characters and how everyone tied to everyone else. I did not see who the killer was until the very end and that's one thing I love about stories about this, when they surprise me. I loved that Jules finally learned the truth about Nell and that she would have protected her if she knew and maybe things could have been different between them. I hope that her and Lena being together will help each other grow and heal. I can't wait for the next book by Paula Hawkins!!

WOW! Simply wow
Wow. That's the first thing that comes to mind when I think of this book. From the earliest pages the reader becomes drawn into the smallest pieces of the characters lives. When the world falls into absolute chaos upon the release of a deadly virus that wipes out the majority of the world, it becomes vital to bring together the survivors. With some of the typical "King" flair and some help from the super natural folks are drawn to good or evil. This is easily one of the best books ever written.

Unexpectedly good
Ok I wasn't sure I was going to like it. The beginning didn't endear me to the characters, and seemed a bit too far fetched even for a fantasy novel. However I kept reading and found myself not wanting to put it down. The author writes in a rich descriptive poetic style, very beautiful at times and when it's not, it's mildly funny and a little crude.
It certainly does not lack depth in any of the characters, which was what concerned me at the beginning. The plot is skilfully woven together and left me wanting more.
