Extremely disturbing - needs a trigger warning
I've never felt so moved and violently uncomfortable /ill at the same time while reading a book before. The level of graphic psychological abuse described definitely requires a trigger warning before survivors listen because unfortunately the truth is stranger than fiction, despite many readers wanting to wave away the experiences as 'absurd' on some of the Amazon reviews.
While there were some instances that were unclear especially near the end, and slightly inconclusive in the climax, which was a bit unsatisfactory - it should be listened to as a psychological cautionary tale rather than a thriller as such. To describe it as a mystery would be insulting to those who have experienced it.

A compelling new story that takes the nuance of Cruel prince and the lore of Goblin King. Fans of strong characters and women who can take on the world will love this read.
Soren and Janneka make the perfect pair to take on the world. Their companionship and fight through the book is commendable. This permafrost world is so well developed that it takes a bit of time to understand the plot. The characters had their own fears and you developed warmth for the odd man out.
*Warning of slight trigger warning for rape is advised. There is no full discussion but alluded to and the scars it leaves behind are in the plot multiple times.

I wanted to watch this from the trailers, and it was such a good show from start to finish. Warning for very explicit scenes but, you get so lost in these characters that it shouldn't be too much of a bother. Each character was very unique, there was a lot of diversity and it explored sex and everything that comes with that in a respectful way. Some trigger warnings might apply, like abortions, homophobia, and bullying but, they all send a very strong message.

I do love Marian Keyes, the way she's able to take the every day and make it interesting. I couldn't put this down and loved the dynamics of the characters.
For some reason I couldn't keep hold off who was who's partner in the beginning as it switches perspectives.
I really loved the twists in the story.
There's a trigger warning for this book worth noting for those with history for of eating disorders.

Thirteen Reasons Why (Possible Trigger Warning)
This book is one of my favorites. I'm pretty sure I cried throughout the whole thing; it's such an emotional read. You really learn about the characters, but the downside is that this book really makes suicide seem like it's a valid option because all this other stuff will happen. People will finally feel bad, miss her, etc. To me that's the wrong message to send, but I enjoyed the book nonetheless.

A demented tragic inversion of The Road
When I first started reading this, I was expecting an apocalyptic type novel - which in some ways it was for the main character Peggy.
Her father, who should have protected her, took the young child down an extremely dark path in this novel concluding with the ultimate horror in its final climax.
If I mention the themes it will probably end up spoiling the story but it is not a traditional Armageddon plot.
A trigger warning is required with this tragic, terrible story so read with an open mind.

The memoir itself it is written well. I love how each person is introduced and how Jeanette wrote her family. I really love Jeanette and her older sister. It is rough with so many things happening to the family. It is an emotional ride too as you read through the memoir.
For me I wish there was a warning in the beginning and in front of the chapter or event to anyone who ever was abused that it could possibly trigger them. I know it is not a big part in the memoir but it wouñd help many.
