Suswatibasu (1703 KP) rated Adnan's Story in Books
Jul 25, 2017
While the author obviously has vested interests in this and there are times of bias, it makes Adnan's story even more personable and the potential allegations of police corruption even more harrowing.
In Serial, the creator briefly mentions Rabia so it's interesting to see her perspective and also how she felt Adnan and the wider community including his family were wronged. She also brings in the social aspect and how the Muslim community as a whole were portrayed in a negative light. Gripping for true crime fans.
Erika (17789 KP) rated Voyeur (2017) in Movies

This was an interesting one, it was about this dude who bought a hotel in the 1960s to spy on guests and satisfy his voyeuristic tendencies. Interpret that as you see fit. The dude's a creepy dirt bag and it made me feel slightly sick to my stomach hearing about his adventures.
This documentary follows the journalist who is writing the story, Gay, and features interviews with the creep. It's very interesting to see the process that this old-school journalist takes, and his wariness about the whole thing.
Is the voyeur telling the truth? Or just making this stuff up?
If you can stomach the disgusting dude's exploits, it's an interesting watch.

Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated His Mercenary (Mercenary In Love, #1) in Books

It didn't hold enough romance for me. I get lust and that seemed what this was but the fact that they'd known each other three days and had sex all of those three days and suddenly wanted to be together...it just didn't ring true to me. Added in that erotica isn't my favourite genre and the spelling of "come" as "cum" pees me off, I wasn't exactly enjoying it that much.
The crime side of the story didn't hold my attention either, and I felt the ending was rather sudden.
Not for me.
