Nick and Aura have moved from the UK to France, to escape from some mystery event that has happened in their past. And quite honestly, the Chateau they buy is like something out of The Money Pit (I’m showing my age here!). I should start by saying that I thoroughly enjoyed this, BEFORE I say that the crumbling chateau was a pretty accurate metaphor for the state of their relationship. ANd try as I might, I found myself rooting for their sticky end, in whatever way it would come (I do so love to hate the main characters of a book!!). Nick and Aura are those stereotypical Brits who move to a foreign country without speaking the language, and never really learn how to speak it when they’re there - not that they’re given much of a chance.
Their small ex-pat community is full of the rich, spoilt and slightly/ very depraved.
Information about Nick and Aura is dished out in flashbacks, and I didn’t know who to feel the most sorry for. Oh hang on, I did. It was the children. To have parents like these *shakes head*.
There are so many twists and turns that you won’t know who to trust - right up to the Big Ending, and oh! How I loved it!
I think in the end, everyone got just what they deserved.

This is a reread for me and I loved it more the second time round if that’s at all possible. When rereading a book you see all the bits and think well crap I missed that the first time, also this time despite knowing a certain part was coming it was still emotional. Absolutely love this series.

This book has an interesting premise, and I was quickly hooked. But then we hit the middle, where we had questions asked multiple times with very few answers of any kind. I would have been happy with lies, even, to advance the story and set up some twists. We do reach a satisfying climax, but the pacing could have been better. One character was whiney, but I found the rest of the characters likeable, and enjoyed spending time with them. Most of the story is told from Arden’s third person point-of-view, which helps us get to know her better, but we get some chapters from other’s view points. I’m wondering if I’m just not having realistic expectations for phycological thrillers. If you like the genre and this premise sounds interesting, definitely give this book a chance.

WICKED GAMES is the first book in the Silvercrest U series, and I'm already hooked! Felix and Killian's story ticked all the right boxes for me.
Due to a family tragedy, Felix and Killian are forced to share a room at the University they both attend. This is something neither of them wanted. However, it does mean they see more of each other than is usual. And when I say see more of each other, I mean that in every sense. Felix comes across as fluffy and light, but he has hidden depths, trust me. As for Killian, Jace, and Jax, what you see is what you get. I certainly wouldn't cross any of them!
My heart broke for Felix as he dealt with everything that was thrown at him, and yet I loved how his relationship with the guys changed. Seeing Jace and Jax tuck him under their wing was so good, in a warped and twisted kinda way. I especially loved seeing the small snippets as Killian realised his feelings for Felix were changing.
Such a brilliant start to the series. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and I can't wait to return to Silvercrest U!

POSE FOR ME is a standalone dark romance with a Daddy/boy relationship. And trust me when I say that's the most normal thing about the book!
What we have here is a book about a serial killer who kidnaps the FBI agent who is hunting for him, and both of them getting more than they thought they would. And when I say serial killer, I mean someone who kills people just because... they're not bad people, or have done bad things. They're just in the wrong place, at the wrong time, catching the eye for whatever reason of the wrong person.
My favourite part of a Daddy/boy romance is the caretaking aspect of it, and this had that in spades, even though you may think it unlikely. I've read others, but none hit the mark as much as caretaking, and this had everything. Possessiveness, neediness, lingerie, c0ckwarming, it's all here and I loved every moment.
I read this book in one sitting and couldn't put it down. I loved every word, and now I need to find the other book mentioned so I can read that too. Absolutely brilliant and definitely recommended by me.
