"It's just dirty rock & roll and it reminds me of good times in the van with The Verve. They were our halcyon days if you like; driving round the UK taking lots of speed and rocking the place basically. It's a good time record. It's a destructive record, but I think we probably felt like that at the time. We felt destructive. It's about not giving a fuck really. When I was digging back into the past, this was one of the treasures."

Dark but with a twisted sense of humour
After seeing a trailer on netflix (in the UK) it sold it for me on the get go, this show is dark, twisted, funny, drink and drug fueled action.

One scene that stands out is when the main protagonist is playing cards and happy is around, i wont spoil it but when you get there, you will be dying with laughter.

This show was well and truly the start of a new fantastic branch of British Comedy. I cannot translate why this show is so fantastic in words, and I also believe that anyone from outside the UK will not be able to translate the humour into any words - or sense at that.

The thing is, it's not even that funny, however, I still cannot get myself to turn it off once I've put it on. It's just bizarre but so great.

Nope ... not for me ... hard to feel anything for any of the characters and hard to get into - sorry but I found it pretty boring and I can't bring myself to recommend it although there are plenty of very positive and 4 and 5 star reviews out there so obviously it appeals to others so don't take my word for it ... try it for yourself.

Thank you to Penguin UK - Michael Joseph via NetGalley for my copy in return for an honest review.

I have read “Hidden” by Emma previously and found it to be a riveting read so when “The Missing Hours” appeared on NetGalley, I jumped at the chance to read it and am grateful to the publisher, Random House UK, Cornerstone, for providing me with a copy in return for an honest review.

What a fantastic book! I was completely absorbed from the start.

I haven’t read anything by Val McDermid before (shock, horror!!) so didn’t really know what to expect but I have heard many good things about her previous books so took a punt and requested a copy via NetGalley and was approved by the publisher, Little, Brown Book Group UK to receive it in return for an honest review which can be found on my blog - Reading Stuff 'n' Things.

Snowpiercer (2013)
Snowpiercer (2013)
2013 | Sci-Fi
I’m chilled by the sensational dystopian sci-fi thriller Snowpiercer (2013), now streaming (finally) on Netflix UK
While it works well as a dystopian action thriller, it’s a much more complex and layered film than it may appear at first glance. There are moments of comedy (both light and pitch black), subversion, searing social commentary and shocking violence and although the film isn’t afraid to wear its bleak, nihilistic heart on its sleeve, it does so without alienating or disengaging the viewer....

Known as "How I spent my summer Vacation" in the UK?! A strange and quirky film set in a Mexican prison, which feels more like a mini city full of bad guys. This didn't get much hype, and I didn't know what to expect which possibly made me like it a bit more. It feels a bit gritty and rough around the edges compared to a lot of Mel Gibson's films, but it was still a decent watch if nothing spectacular. Reminded me of Payback a little.

Harold And Kumar Go To White Castle (2004)
2004 | Adventure, Comedy
I quite enjoy films about a totally weird string of events that occur during a road trip or one wild night like this. This reminded me of After hours crossed with Dude where's my car? A stoner comedy that has a bit of something for most people and a good chemistry between the leads. It has a few good cast cameos too. Funny enough for a watch, not sure about being a classic. Oh and over here (UK) it's called Harold and Kumar get the munchies!

No wayward sisters show
For me the highlight of the season is the scooby doo episode and it works bring Sam and Dean into the scooby doo world. plus the introduction of the wayward sisters as a possible spinoff shame never happened. Overall not bad season only thing missing is Crowley king of hell but it doesn't matter cause going to supernatural convention in Birmingham UK and mark Shepard is one of the guests
