Mills & Boon meets fantasy and VAMPIRES!
As a fan of reading the short Mills & Boon books as a divider between larger more intense novels, I was pleasantly surprised with this one. This was Mills and Boon meets fantasy and vampires, a brilliant page turner, demolished in just over an hour.
Not reading the previous stories in the Valorian Chronicles, I was not familiar with the characters but this did not effect the enjoyment of book.
If you like fantasy and mass market paperback romance, you will certainly enjoy this. Be aware that the adult scenes are not your standard "cute" romance.

Yes!!

What a brilliant start to what looks to be an awesome new series!

The Voinico's Daughter has everything you need to hook you into this cracking world of vampires, mystery and family dynamics. From high school to high profile, Nicoleta has a lot of adjusting to do and with some very powerful vampires to deal with learning the "trade" becomes even more if a priority.
I'm so glad I've had the opportunity to read this and I can't wait for the next installment.......I'm so impatient!! This is definitely a box of chocolates worthy, add in comfy pajamas and you'll be transported to Romania in luxury.

Vampires
I am a huge fan of this show and the first season was close to the best season. Introduction to the characters of Angel and relearning about buffy and her Scooby gang was great.

Angel was my favourite episode and it really got me hooked onto the show

The 23rd Discworld book, this is really what I would term as one of the 'Witches' (Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg, Magrat Garlik and - now - Agnes Nitt) novels, and is also the first to concentrate on 'proper' Vampires (or, as they prefer to be known, Vampyres (with a 'y'))

By 'proper' Vampires, I do mean vicious bloodsuckers, as opposed to the tamer variety sometimes mentioned as living in Ankh-Morpork. It also has a larger-than-usual role for a member of the clergy: this time, for a Reverend from Omniasm ("who knows he has a prayer but wishes he had an axe"), and is also - I believe - one of the first books to introduce the character(s) of Igor.

In this, the Vampires have been invited by King Verence of Lancre to the baptism of his and Magrat's baby daughter, and decide to take the country as well as the invitation. It is up to the Witches (primarily Granny Weatherwax) to stop them from doing so, raising more than a few laugh out loud moments from me along the way.
