As the full moon mating ceremony approaches and the tribunal not long after. Tessa is starting to panic and her mate Dastien seems pretty unfased by it. Which is kind of making Tessa even more stressed out...
Tessa is worried about the witches and what they might say or even do at the tribunal. Which to be fair everyone is. On the day of the full moon ceremony Lucinda and some of her coven arrive and threaten war if they do not stop what they are doing. As things turn nasty Tessa agrees to stop the ceremony until after the tribunal.
After the tribunal happens Tessa is sent to the Coven to stay there for one month before returning to the pack. She doesn't want too, but she does in order to stop the war from looming.
Whilst living with the coven she soon learns what Lucinda is up too. How she runs this coven and what the witches there think. How absolutely crazy she is! Tessa does make some friends whilst there and they help her and the wolves when the fight starts. The vampires are back lead by the witches and things are about to turn bad. Tessa's powers have gone both her Bruja and Alpha powers, what will she do?

Holds up well for it's age.
Returning to watch Buffy after quite a few years, fully expecting the nostalgic feeling I had towards it to be ruined by it not aging well. I actually found it still held the same appeal and could easily have been made a couple of years ago, the humour, action and cast chemistry make it a joy to watch, even now.
The idea (for those who don't know) is one girl, being the chosen one, The Slayer who fights the forces of darkness, secretly, with the aid of a mentor "The Watcher" brilliantly played by Anthony Head. Except, Buffy is a bit different from other previous Slayers... She has a life, friends, relationship issues and so the "secret" part of the the task at hand isn't quite so secret... With help and hindrance in almost equal measure from humans, vampires, daemons, military, and witches to name but a few...
The 2 main watchers we encounter during the series are superbly played and could almost be clones of each other and Spike is still one of the best characters of all time on TV...
If you haven't seen it, it is really worth a go and if you haven't seen it for some time, spare a little time for a classic...

It goes without saying that the importance of Dracula cannot be understated. Releasing in 1931, it was Universal Studios first steps into the horror genre, not long after 'talkies' became a thing, and surely paved the way for he mountain of horror titles that have come along since.
Bela Lugosi is Dracula, and though there have been fine portrayals of the titular vampire since, his performance lay the ground work for how a lot of media realise vampires to this day. He cuts a striking figure, he's suave and sinister, and the thick European accent is paramount to how he made Dracula a classic.
I first saw Dracula when I was a kid, and having watched it again recently, it's still a striking experience. While there may not be anything inherently frightening or scary by today's standards, the old black and white style, paired with long moments of uncomfortable silence (Director Tod Browning has exclusively worked on silent films before this), make for a suitably eerie atmosphere.
It's obviously a film that shows it age, but still hasn't lost any of it's charm. The version I watched recently was a Blu Ray restoration, and it's clear how lovingly that restoration has been implemented. Watching a film from the 30s look so crystal clear is something special.

This is the final book and Basi has some serious issues to resolve. She gave the Fyrlia's information that could start the end game and leave Kyros and his family in jeopardy so she has to fix that. Then there's what she promised to do for the Indebted. There's also the issue of trying to stay true to her grandmother's memory.
Once again I don't want to spoil it by going into detail but whoa, this had a lot going on.
I enjoyed reading more of the growing connection between Basi and Kyros as they completed more blood exchanges. It was about time that they finally just told each other the truth and worked through the issues from their short past together. They really were super cute and extremely hot at times. I loved them.
As for the game between the two clans of vampires. I'm so glad Basi was able to come up with her brilliant idea to thwart the bad side from winning as, like Basilia, I'd grown to like pretty much all of Kyros' family.
I did like the ending.
At the back of the book, the author had a note saying she was working on a werewolf supernatural battle series too and I think I'll read that too when it's released.

Lovecraft country was a total surprise to me, I expected something that was totally over the top and when I saw the opening scene of the first episode it looked looked I was going to be right. However the show soon settles down and, after the first episode finds itself ground in reality, even if it is a reality contain magic. A lot of the episodes have a Lovecraftian/Pulp feel (The strange case springs instantly to mind) but they are still set in a very real feeling world and some episodes throw a real emotional punch.
The first couple of episodes focus on a couple of characters which leave some of the supporting cast feeling a bit two dimensional to begin with but, by the final episode almost everyone has been filled out and some of the best emotion comes from the characters you'd least expect.
There is violence, racism, sex and magic in Lovecraft Country so you may want to keep younger viewers away.
The series has Lovecraftian themes but also pulls on other classic literature and still manages to steer away from the more conventional monsters , there are no vampires, no zombies and, even though it's called 'Lovecraft' Country his most famous creation, Cthulhu, only has a small cameo that has no effect on the story, favouring the Shoggoth as the go-to Lovecraft creation.
