The other film from new director S. Craig Zahler is Brawl in Cell Block 99 starring Vince Vaughn. Also brutal, also great. I would highly recommend.

Vince Vaughn does ok in this role although he does lay it on thick (0 more)
The effects are awful, the storyline is laughable, Jennifer Carpenter is terrible and the gore is gratuitous (0 more)
Super low budget film that is not worthy

It was entertaining enough but by no means a “good movie” :)

Gus Van Sant has made some of the most thought provoking films ever. Then he decided to make an exact shot for shot remake of sacred ground, but decided to miscast Anne Heche and Vince Vaughn in their iconic roles. It came off as a mockery.

"Wedding Crashers I just think is absolutely hilarious. Old School was like the funniest movie I’d seen in a long time, before this. Vince and Owen, at that point in their careers, there was nothing better. I just thought that movie was so, so funny. And Christopher Walken, and Rachel McAdams, and Bradley Cooper — that was like the first time people really saw him. It had so many lines in it. Vince Vaughn was on fire back then."

Vince Vaughn always makes me laugh even when he makes me angry. Him and Jennifer Aniston are a great couple and play well off of each other. Love the storyline that is different from many. (0 more)
Wish the ending was different but love that they toy with the idea that you could get your dream ending (0 more)
almost perfect

War Is Hell
For a movie about a pacifist, this one doesn't shy away from the gory horrors of war. Nonetheless though, this is a great movie. The set and the sound design and the whole production level in general is astonishing. Garfield shines here in the lead role and Hugo Weaving, Vince Vaughn and Sam Worthington are also great in their respective roles.

Interesting take on a worn out story.

Vince Vaughn plays a "planner" for underground crime. He provides plans, schematics, and other assorted information to other criminals so that they can perform crimes while focusing on the legwork portion of the crime. Naturally, everything goes wrong and he becomes a hunted man, as you would expect.

That's when things actually get a little different. Nick's (Vaughn) sole focus becomes making sure his quasi estranged daughter (Haylee Steinfeld) is provided for after his impending death. While accepting his own fate, he will stop at nothing to stay alive long enough for his new life insurance policy to become active, in one week.

Nice little afternoon action flick to burn a couple hours.

Solid Meh
I didn't hate this film, I just don't love it. Definitely just one to have on in the background while doing something else. I wasn't invested in the characters at all. I think the best part was honestly Sylvester Stallone and Stephen Baldwin in the siblings group. They bade me laugh the most. I feel like this was a very classic roll for Vince Vaughn. Not a bad thing, just very him, if that makes sense.

I doubt I'll ever watch this film again.

"Vince Vaughn made me laugh like all the way through this film. There’s plenty of dialogue, but the part where he’s sitting at the dinner table and he’s getting the rub-and-tug under table is just… He’s doing everything with his face, like, he’s not really saying anything. What’s coming out of him is awesome, pardon the pun. Will Ferrell is great too, but just watch Vince Vaughn in that entire movie where he gets strapped down to the bed and they want to play tummy sticks and stuff. “No, no tummy sticks.” The scene where he goes into the kitchen and he’s angry, and he’s like “We’re not talking,” but he’s loading up on carbs and stuff and announces he’s going to “sit over here,” dumping syrup on top of everything. It’s slapsticky and over the top, but there’s room on everyone’s queue for something big that has celebrities in it but a great score, and it looked great, they’re taking the boat out, there’s big weddings. It’s a big movie, but it didn’t feel big and overpowering; it felt intimate. There was a direction, there was a sense, and they went. And they didn’t deviate, and it also has such a sweetness and lessons learned and all that kind of stuff."
