"This came in the wake of Remain In Light as a side project. I'd seen Talking Heads at Eric's, which was my world back then. Although slightly older people said it was like Can and introducing sound collages, I didn't think Can were that funky, but this is. It was quite an amazing album really, and freaked everybody out when it was released. 'The Jezebel Spirit' and 'America Is Waiting', I guess, were the standout tracks that I got, but the end track ['Mountain Of Needles'] as well, which had slowed-down sounds and voices. I thought it was brilliant."

"I never took any film classes back in college, but these are two that I saw by sneaking into different post-lecture screenings. A fascination with the power of the missing person has stayed with me. The dizzying number of overlapping layers—worlds, eras, sympathies, and attachments—has kept Rebecca one of my all time favorites. Joan Fontaine’s nameless character can seem pathetic at times—overwhelmed by an insane situation in her austere, claustrophobic, itchy wool outfits. But she can also feel as powerful as a five-alarm wake-up call from the present tense. (Yikes, especially if the present tense is 1940.)"

OMG, this book was bloody fantastic, one of my favourite reads this year, can't believe this was a debut author it was that good and believe me I read a lot of fiction.
Don't wake up by Liz Lawler was one of those stories that is impossible to put down. I was awake half the night reading, as this was such a compulsive story and I just had to know what was going to happen next.
To summarise we have Dr Alex Taylor, A doctor working A&E. One night upon leaving work she is attacked, upon rousing, she discovers herself naked on an operating table, with a masked stranger.
waking from this traumatic ordeal and believing she could have been raped the police are called. The problem is Alex when found unconscious in the hospital grounds by a security guard and her boyfriend Patrick The vet, is fully clothed with not a mark on her and nobody really believes her thinking she has suffered a head trauma and imagined her horrific experience.
Alex then spirals into a downward plunge of alcohol, anxiety and diazepam.
No one will listen to her, and events are escalating. I won't go into any more detail as I really don't want to spoil this excellent read for others, let's just say we have murder, intrigue a bit of romance and a story of phycological warfare that keeps you guessing until the end.
In conclusion, this is one book that you don't want to miss this year, the writing is excellent and in a sea of fiction, Don't wake up really stands out as a brilliant dark psychological thriller if I could give it more than five stars I would it was that good.
A job well done, Liz Lawler
I received a free E-Copy of Don't Wake Up from NetGalley and this is my own honest opinion.

So, at first, I wasn't sure how I felt about the fact that the physical home button was removed. Sometimes, I do wish it was there.
I absolutely love the fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone, so you can actually hold your phone like a normal human being and unlock it. The display is amazing, and I love the forever clock, so I don't even have to wake it up to see the time and alerts.
Samsung was also on point for creating a case with an attachable qwerty keyboard. It makes texting so much easier, and makes me nostalgic for my blackberry.

A must-watch Documentary - Drama
An excellent insight into what happened at Chernobyl Nuclear Powerplant which has opened up my interest in the subject and made me read more into the characters /history etc.

The suffering that followed in the wake of the disaster is mind blowing though the 'official' recorded death toll is only around 35 people.

A must watch for young and old though some seems are upsetting / distressing.

Although the team of scientists who supported after the incident were mainly depicted by one character in the series, the bravery of those people is inspiring and should not be forgotten.

Not your usual love story...
I'm not usually one for 'love story' movie's but I'm happy to give them a go....

Starring Hillary Swank & Gerrard Butler The story begins with a more realistic take on a couples quarrel regarding their personal life...

Continuing shortly after following the death of the husband from the time of the wake...

Perfectly orchestrated in more ways than one, widow Holly restrains herself from the outside world struggling to cope with her loss before being forced to live her life from love letters from the afterlife.

A beautiful and emotional story of tragedy and acceptance from begging to end.

Red Eye- is a decent thiller. Both Rachel McAdams and Cillian Murray are really good.

The plot: In the wake of her grandmother's funeral, hotel manager Lisa Reisert (Rachel McAdams) is waiting to fly back home when she meets charming Jackson Rippner (Cillian Murphy) at check-in. She thinks it luck that they're seated together on the plane, but soon learns otherwise. Jackson hopes to assassinate the head of Homeland Security, but to do so, he needs Lisa to reassign the official's room number at her hotel. As insurance, Jackson has kidnapped Lisa's father (Brian Cox).

Like i said its a decent movie.

Good for a one time only watch
Around 50 people wake up in a deadly game where every 2 minutes they have to vote for who gets to die next. That is literally it! When I read about the movie, I was expecting it to similar to saw, gore and everything but I was wrong. The entire movie is just everyone in a room trying to work out a plan of survival by eliminating others. It was OK for a one time watch, I kept watching as i was interested to see how it played out and how it ended but I can't see myself wanting to watch it again.

Brilliantly written and in-depth.

The Encanto is full of well written characters and lots of twists and turns. Not forgetting details that will keep you hooked from start to finish.

Descriptively rich you can easily get lost for hours in this world of mystery and intrigue......then 'wake' up in the real world. Make sure to have a cuppa to hand and some cheeky biscuits, a snuggly blanket and get comfortable.

Ideal for anyone with a love of historical type legends with artefacts and adventure. You'll be kept on your toes and there's the added bonus of this being the first in the series!!
