Peter G. (247 KP) rated District 9 (2009) in Movies

This film is both intelligent and action packed with undertones that mirror Apartheid.
The concepts here are well played out and the CGI is non obtrusive and blend in very well, the Ghetto areas are realised well and some scenes are like a documentary, but when the action begins it really is a rollercoaster and when the end comes it's very fitting, an absorbing watch.

This story was an interesting read.
Not one I would normally pick up but I liked the description and thought it sounded interesting.
I thought that the characters were well thought out and connected well with each other. Their emotions and actions fit well and were not over dramatic.
I think this is a good book when you are looking for something new and heartfelt.

Works well for individuals or teams (1 more)
Enjoyable board and card game combo
A good family perennial game
My family really enjoy playing this game and it has become a classic we play regularly. The combination of strategy and luck works well and it's an easy game to learn. Not many games work this well for both individuals and teams. Great game with long-lasting playability.

This is a well written and thought provoking read with well developed characters. The author pulls you into the story line and I often found it hard to put this book down. I recommend this contemporary and heartfelt read.
Shaun Collins (3 KP) rated Doctor Who: A Brief History of Time Lords in Books
Jan 12, 2018
While a bit of background fluff, this book was so much fun to read. A thoughtful, well constructed, well put together slice of Time Lord history (and all the inconsistencies that sentence entails.) For a fuller review, see www.travelingthevortex.com
