My inner 17 year old self loved DEADPOOL. It had everything that any 17 year old boy would want in a movie - sex, violence and a smart-alec attitude, all wrapped up in an unapologetic package that reveled in - and did not shy away from - these traits.

At this point in the review, you are either saying "f#*$ yeah! this movie is for me!" or you have stopped reading, will never see this movie, so it doesn't really matter what I write.

For the rest of you still reading, grab your raunchy comedy sense of humor and head to the theaters to see DEADPOOL, you won't be sorry. DP pokes fun at itself and the genre it represents right from the get-go. Get there early for the opening credits, they aren't quite like any opening credits you have seen before.

First time director Tim Miller cut his teeth on animated short films (most notably, the Oscar nominated animated short, GOPHER BROKE) and it shows in this film. DEADPOOL plays like a 100 minute Road Runner cartoon with star Ryan Reynolds constant patter sounding more and more like the RoadRunner's "Beep, Beep" as the film progresses.

Don't get me wrong, Reynolds does a nice job as the lead and brings humor and charm to the character, but after awhile it just didn't matter as it was just an excuse for fights, car chases, mayhem, violence and explosions - and I didn't mind one bit.

There are some interesting characters in this film, most notably played by Morena Baccarin and T.J. MIller - two actors who I felt FINALLY got decent roles to play, but they, too, take a back seat to the action and smart-assery in this film Even the great Leslie Uggams is brought in as an old, blind, smartass, and she acquits herself quite well.

The smartest things the filmmakers did with this movie is that they did not back away from what they were trying to do - make a superhero movie that was a mash-up of THE AVENGERS and DIRTY GRANDPA, they didn't flinch from this mission, which is why it is successful. They accomplished what the set out to accomplish - make a Superhero movie that any teenage boy would love.

7 (out of 10) stars - 10 out of 10, if you listen to my inner 17 year old - and you can take that to the Bank (of Marquis)

"Just for sh–s and giggles, I want to pick a recent one, but you just never know until years go by whether movies stand up. You love them at first, and you love them the first five times, but 10 years down the line, will you still not be able to switch the channel if this film comes on? I don’t know, but I’m going to pick one, my favorite film of last year. I’m going to say La La Land. I recently worked with Adam Siegel, who was one of the producers. I worked with him on a film called Hotel Artemis, and we have had this conversation, and he asked me what I loved about it. This was the first time I really pinpointed it. I didn’t go when it first came out, because I just didn’t have any interest — musical, just not my thing, I just don’t. So I didn’t really want to go see it. Then it was re-released after the Golden Globes, and I was like, “I’ve got to go see what the hype is all about.” I went and saw it, and I sat in the theater by myself, thinking, “This is the best thing I’ve seen in a long time.” What it was, was that it made me feel like Hollywood was romantic again. I don’t feel that when I go out there. What I feel like now is that it’s a town full of people who want to be on reality shows. It made me feel like old Hollywood. It just made me feel romantic, like this is what I love about films. There was just something very romantic about that film, and just I love it. Then the music is incredible. What I really, really love about it is it’s just completely unpredictable, because up until the very end of that film, I had no idea how it was going to end, and I love that. That is so hard to do nowadays, just to keep people guessing right up to the last two minutes of the film. Like, it’s almost impossible. They did it, and not only did it, but in a magical, exciting way. I just love that movie. And some of the shots, I mean, just technically, some of the shots were amazing. Like, I still don’t know how the hell they did that shot in the pool. When I saw it, I couldn’t believe it, and I just thought and thought and thought, and was trying to figure out how the hell they shot that."

Dark twist on a classic story
Fantastic take on a classic novel
Just read it! seriously!

I had this book bought for me by my SO because he knows I love Alice in Wonderland, so I wasn't really sure what to expect from this book. I definitely wasn't expecting to love it, but I did, I honestly couldn't put it down.

I love books with a bit of a dark twist, especially classic lit like Poe. If you love the classics and dark literature then this book is for you. Henry takes all the characters you love from Wonderland and makes them new and sinister. It's a fantastic take on a classic novel and I cannot recommend it enough.

I recommend book 2 in the chronicles too!

I definitely recommend it, she's wrote a second book for this too" red Queen, and also a retelling of Peter Pan (Lost Boy), which I thought was even better than Alice! So I definitely recommend reading both of those too, especially Lost Boy if you haven't already :)

Well my streak continues...that would be the streak where I enjoy a book much more than I do the movie adaption. I don't usually see a movie & then read the book, but in this case I did just that. I saw this movie ages ago & enjoyed it, but damn the real story has so much more color & life to it than the movie. It really makes you think about life, love, & forgiveness. What an amazing story on the power of love & how your perspective on things changes throughout your life. Your experiences shape the way you see things & you just may be surprised & how drastically those experiences can shift your whole view of a situation.
I adore this book! It is very easy to get lost in.

Well I think I've missed a few entries as this is now the 7th entry in the Tremors series. Seen the first 4 and they did go very budget after the first 2 films.
This has the same old plot really, this time a big game hunter has set up a Graboid hunt on a remote island. Filmed in the lovely islands of Thailand. As usual things get out of hand and who who else do you turn to to deal with the problem than good ol' Burt Gummer.
The effects are pretty good, and this seems to have been influenced by Predator in a few scenes. Still tongue in cheek but you know what you are getting by now. One for Tremors fans otherwise you're not missing much.

Brilliant court room drama
I hadn't watched the film in ages and then suddenly it popped up on tv so I recorded it. I didn't watch it straight away as I thought I really remembered most of what happened but when I did watch it there was so much I had forgotten about!
Some reviews say that Demi Moore is wooden but I actually think she holds her own in this film. Cruise is brilliant as always, playing the part of the cocky but clever lawyer who goes after one of the big guns (Jack Nicholson).
For anyone who hasn't watched it, you really should, you won't be disappointed! Are we clear?

Quite a strange film...to be honest though it might have sounded good on paper and the twists and finale probably sounded interesting enough. The main problem is if you watch many films like this you could probably figure it all out within the first 10 minutes, I did. So what could have been great ends up being quite predictable and it becomes a slow film, even at 80mins long to an obvious conclusion. The filming style was ok, not quite Rec or Blair witch, but hand held and up close do add to the atmosphere of the film. A missed opportunity as there seem to be a lot of similar style films out at present.

This books is really different in terms of Romance. I wonder sometimes if the mother Germma was doing something wrong by not telling the father of the baby. She should have told him and let him decide. She was so afraid that see was in a Panic when he showed up at the hospital.

Tate was there for another reason. Germma was more afraid of what Tate would do than wonder if maybe if he was going to take her son away. You will be surpise to learn that all they did for their son and Tate family name along with some other surprises. If you enjoy Romance this is good book to read.
