The 70s cheese that's present in every Bruce Lee film seems overexposed in the film that would eventually lead to him becoming a martial arts action star. The Big Boss is very reminiscent of Riki-Oh - The Story of Ricky. That should be the other way around, but I managed to see Riki-Oh first and The Big Boss later. The two films are similar to each other for their over the top violence. This is Lee's bloodiest film and it's edited from when it was originally shown in theaters in '71.
Other than being bloody, the film is very unrealistic. It seems like anyone can jump ten feet into the air at will at any given point in time, a man leaves his outline in the wall after getting kicked through it by Bruce Lee, and Lee kills the main villain of the film by sticking his fingertips (all of them) into the villain's abdomen. That's just scratching the surface of the film's ridiculousness. Characters are very cliche, as well. The Chow Mei character is a typical damsel in distress kind of female character that is generally weak, has a crush on the main character of the film, and cries...AT EVERYTHING.
The Big Boss is definitely more cartoonish than any other Bruce Lee film. With all that being said, there's something still enjoyable about it. Maybe it's the fact that it jumpstarted Bruce Lee's career as a movie star or that films that contain over the top violence that don't take themselves too seriously are generally pretty awesome. It's a film worth seeing for the history behind it and it's worth owning for the Bruce Lee fans who know what it paved the way for.

Lee and Joe are starting off their married life with a house full of guests. But that's nothing compared to a string of burglaries and the man showing up claiming to be Joe's long dead father. I missed many of the series regulars, and the plot wandered around a big before it really took off. Fans of the series will enjoy it.

Evil dies tonight
Just watched liked it as a sequel but preferred the previous one I will say this straight off this one is the most goreist of all the Halloween the body count in this one is high. Some of the best parts of the movie is seeing the events of the movie thru the townsfolk of haddenfield who were there during the first film who decided to go vigilante on Michael. Also I like the call backs to the first one with will pattons officer hawkins. Overall good sequel bring on the third part and maybe the end of Michael myers

Honestly it was well written,a strong story and decent characters. Also it was very middle of the road when it comes to these types of stories. I knew Tim was one of the from the Start it was made quite obvious. Overall a good and gory if not predictable.

Cat and Mouse Chase
The Fugitive- a gripping action packed thriller with suspense and drama all the way up to the credits, not one moment is boring. The chemisty between Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones is excellent.
The plot: Wrongfully accused of murdering his wife, Richard Kimble (Harrison Ford) escapes from the law in an attempt to find her killer and clear his name. Pursuing him is a team of U.S. marshals led by Deputy Samuel Gerard (Tommy Lee Jones), a determined detective who will not rest until Richard is captured. As Richard leads the team through a series of intricate chases, he discovers the secrets behind his wife's death and struggles to expose the killer before it is too late.
One thing that got me was when Harrison Ford charcter jumps off from a freaking dam and doesnt get injured or killed from it. That jump was high up, he should of gotting injured or killed, but nope he is perfectly fine, no marks, no broken bones, no nothing. Even tommy lee jones charcter says "he's dead. Their no way he survived that". Watch the sence and tell me he should of gotting injured or killed.

wow, what a story. this is not an easy story to read but it is defiantly a well written story. the author writes the characters so you can relate to them even if you haven't gone through the same. the story may be hard to read but it will leave you feeling inspired and uplifted. this book contains many twists and turns and you'll not want to put it down. defiantly a must read book from an amazing author

New Aliens (1 more)
New story.
Still entertaining. New elements.
Hubs & I went and had an enjoyable time. New aliens, new story. A couple things wowed us. We went in not expecting alot due to early reviews. We left both expressing a good time. It wasn't as new or flashy as the 1st, but it kept our attention. We felt it blended new characters with the old well. You don't go to this movie for intellectual stimulation but doesn't entertainment & it did that job.

Ken Swift is a young college kid, just trying to pay his way through school and life without having enormous debt. His job isn't exactly on the legal side, but it helps him to survive and once he's done with school, this job will be done too. When he is working one night at Club Fetish, reminding the owner that he still owes for his thriving club, he meets Jimi Lee. Jimi Lee is a beautiful Ethiopian woman who he can't keep his eyes off of. She feels the connection too and before long they are at his apartment dancing in other ways. Even though Ken is forbidden fruit in the eyes of Jimi's strick Ethiopian family, she can't stay away from him and soon enough, she'll be joined to him forever.

This is Book 2 in the Ken Swift series by Eric Jerome Dickey, but it's a prequel to Book 1, so I think it's fine to read this one before. It's been a while since I've read an EJD book, but I was looking forward to this one. I will soon be reading the first book because I'm very curious to know what is going to happen next.
I learned a lot about Ethiopian culture in this book and talking with those in my community, I can see that what I read is accurate. I also learned about colorism within the black community. This is something I wasn't expecting. I was taught to love all people regardless of the color of their skin.
There were several times in this book where I wanted to jump in and smack Jimi Lee. She was really an evil woman. While Ken's job wasn't the most upstanding, he himself was a very good man and in my opinion he didn't deserve to be treated the way he was treated by Jimi Lee.
I look forward to reading book 1 and any other books in this series.
