Curvy and the Canid is a wolf shifter story set in Sweden involving the Norse gods. From that alone, I wanted to read this story!
Told from multiple points of view and in the present tense, this story explains about Saskia and Einar. She is a BBW in a country where most are 'skinny-minnies' (big generalisation there from me). She is successful in her chosen career but lacks the confidence to go it alone as an artist. Einar is the Missing Duke and we find out his story too. Together, these two have to overcome a curse and prove that true love can heal all wounds.
This is only a novella and yet it packs a punch. I'm not too keen on novellas as I prefer my stories to have a bit more to them. However, I have to say, with this one, the story is all there! There is nothing missing from this tale and each character is fully developed. You get the side characters who obviously aren't as big as the main ones but they are still three-dimensional.
I loved the setting for this story and can only hope we see more of this setting in future books. Einar and Saskia make a great couple, good for each other in so many ways. With sexy times and lots of love, this was a brilliant story and I can't wait to read more.

OMEGA CAPTIVE OF THE GOLDEN DRAGON is the third book in the Alpha Dragons series, but it can easily be read as a standalone.
It is a sweet, slow-burning story that doesn't start off so well for either of our main characters. At nineteen, Caylen finds out he is a set-omega in a wolf pack, which means he will be sold. Varik, however, has it even worse. He is a golden dragon, who are hunted for their scales. Instead of protecting him, his parents keep him in a cage and forcibly take his scales. This goes on for years, until he is rescued by his brother. It is his brother also also rescues/buys Caylen and brings the two of them together.
This is full of emotions, and my heart broke along with Caylen's at one point in the story. Actually, at more than one point, but you get my meaning. It is steamy in places where it needs to be, but mostly it is about the connection between Caylen, Varik, and Varikan.
Smoothly written with a fast-ish pace, this was a brilliant read that I thoroughly enjoyed. The epilogue was perfect, and I enjoyed the snapshot into their later lives. Although dealing with some not-so-nice topics to begin with, this book gave me the warm fuzzies. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by me.

RUNNING WITH THE WEREWOLF is the first book in the Darkaway Island series, and introduces not only the characters but the magical island too.
Daphne doesn't know magic exists, but then, she does have other things on her mind, such as her crooked boss, who may have had her friend killed. With perfect timing, she is notified that she has won a holiday on Darkaway Island. It is her neighbour who encourages her to go. So she does. When she gets there, she realises that maybe there is more in the world than she had thought.
Travis is a werewolf actor who is recognised pretty much by everyone but Daphne. Due to complications from his dead father, he is the bachelor for a new show, Date-a-Wolf. And wouldn't you know it, Daphne is dragged into it too.
This was a light, easy read with a kooky island and characters. The pacing was smooth and flowed nicely, especially in the scenes with Travis and Daphne, as their feelings grew beyond what was expected in the show. There were some parts that felt superfluous to me, but that's just my opinion.
If you're looking for a cosy paranormal rom-com with a bunch of great characters, then this may be just for you. Personally, I am looking forward to returning to Darkaway Island, hopefully, with all my memories intact!

DEVOTION OF A WOLF tells Lyall and Soren's story. These two were mates when the Pack's world was shattered. Soren was blamed and exiled. Lyall spent the next years searching for him. What happens when they meet again?
This was both a sad story and a hopeful one. My heart broke for Soren in the years before Lyall found him again, and it broke for Lyall and his constant searching. But then they met, and I laughed at the various scenarios and conversations that happened. The text about the pigeon was very funny!
Lyall was so loyal to his family and his Pack, but I am glad things happened the way they did, and he was actually able to be loyal to Soren for a change. I understand the whys and whats, but it was long past time for the Pack to move on. Holding onto something like that isn't good for anyone.
While the focus is on Lyall and Soren, you do get a glimpse at Gunnar and Arlo. I think that is a story definitely worth waiting for, although summer 2026 can't get here quickly enough, so I can read their story. I'm also hoping to find out exactly what happened on that fateful day, and what preceded it.
This was a great addition to the series and definitely recommended by me.

This was both a sad story and a hopeful one. My heart broke for Soren in the years before Lyall found him again, and it broke for Lyall and his constant searching. But then they met, and I laughed at the various scenarios and conversations that happened. The text about the pigeon was very funny!

TEMPTING FATE is number 3.6 in the Monsters of London series, and two of the three main characters have already been introduced in previous books. For that reason, I would say it's best to read this as part of the series, rather than a standalone.
Patch is a wolf who likes Jamie, but doesn't think Jamie is his mate, because there's no instantaneous BOOM moment. Patch does get that when Em walks into the bar, though. Em, who has moved to London to find out if magic - and werewolves - are real! The relationship between the three of them is complicated, to say the least, and it is not something that is quickly solved.
There are plenty of side characters to support this story, most of them having previously had their own stories told. To be fair, I ended up reading this more for them than for the main three. This was a 'me' problem, but I didn't feel the relationship as I have in previous stories. While it was good and I enjoyed it, it didn't sweep me away as it has in the past. As I said, a 'me' problem.
Overall, I think this was a great addition to the series, and I definitely recommend both this story and the series as a whole. I truly can't wait to continue with this series and return to Kieran's Pack.

THE SUCCESSOR is a standalone book in the Tales of Pern Coen series and, next to Wraidd Elfennol, Pern Coen is my favourite island to be on.
We leave the Wolf Clan and move to Ceffyl, the Horse Spirit's home. The villagers are suffering and Geraint isn't at all concerned. He sends his distant cousin, Torin, off to find his ex-wife, Briallen. She has something Geraint wants, and he isn't prepared to accept no as an answer.
I loved this story! Torin and Briallen are perfect together, the warrior and the healer. Their relationship takes time to build and it is all the stronger for it. Cleena, Geraint's current wife, could have just been a simpering fool but, instead, she comes into her own, using her own mind and not just accepting what she is being told. Siarl and Gwyn are the best friends and Maldwyn is the mother figure. And we can't forget the kids, Hywel, Aneirin, and Deidre. All of these characters simply MAKE this book.
I will admit, I wanted Briallen and Torin to have their cottage by the sea but, I'm hoping, they will still have it as a romantic getaway! LOL The ending was absolutely perfect for the story. It certainly made my eyes leak.
Another jewel in the crown of Pern Coen and HIGHLY recommended by me.
