First time seeing this movie for I’ve tried not to watch knowing about the controversy it caused during the 90s glorifying violence the way it does. But to my surprise the movie popped up on Disney plus to my surprise. Anyway I liked the film both leads are good decent plot the violence can go over the top but still decent movie

Emotional end to the Trilogy
A magnificent film, a thinking mans action film.
Harrelson and Serkis performances are amazing, it continues to be a shame that Serkis doesn't get any Oscar nods for his work here.
The plot moves along at what feels like a breezy pace, a step up from the previous films which felt a little plodding.

Better than the first
Let there be carnage
I wasn't a big fan of the first film, probably due to be over hyped. So I didn't have high hopes for this one. Thankfully I found it better than the first film. It's funnier and Woody Harrelson is a much better villian.
There's not much depth to the plot and it's over before too long. Still an enjoyable watch.

The title is a little misleading
Not bad, but nothing special
I'll start off by admitting that my personal views probably affected my view of this film, as I'm really not fond of apes. However I did think the first 2 films were good, but nothing to write home about, and I'm afraid the third film fits in to this category too.
Yes the special effects are amazing, Andy Serkis is brilliant as Caesar and Woody Harrelson is great as a bad guy, if a little underused. My issue with the film is that it's title is misleading - the "war" isn't really the kind of war I was expecting. It's also very slow paced and despite a run time of just over 2 hours, it felt much longer. There was also a few silly plot holes and conveniences made to further the story which didn't quite work. Personally I think Dawn was a much better film as it more evenly balanced the ape and human aspects.

Blazing Minds (92 KP) rated Shock and Awe (2017) in Movies
Nov 1, 2021 (Updated Nov 3, 2021)
With Shock and Awe on DVD and Digital HD today, we checked out the movie over the weekend, the new movie starring Woody Harrelson, Rob Reiner, James Marsden, Jessica Biel and Tommy Lee Jones is based around the time that the term ‘Weapons of Mass Destruction‘ was very much on the lips of many in 2003.
With America on the very edge of a horrific war with Iraq, Shock and Awe is the true story of how the very phrase was twisted with shocking effect.

Stay to the end credits
Just finished watching movie was it the wait of ten years Definitely worth the wait. Loved the sequel loved the first zombieland and the sequel delivers the same humor plus new zombie types. The gangs all back plus new characters like Madison who's my favourite of the characters made me know end. Plus stay to the end credits won't spoil it there's a extra scene that calls back to the first film
Peter G. (247 KP) rated War for the Planet of the Apes (2017) in Movies

The last of the current trilogy and arguably the best.
It riffs upon established POTA tropes such as a believable reason for the loss of speech in humans and also the subtle introduction of Nova.
Effects are beautiful and animation of the apes with Andy Serkis continues to amaze with his performance.
it's a thought provoking story based upon a great escape/Prisoner of war type plot with a prison guard played by a very on form Woody Harrelson.
A fitting end to a better interpretation of Pierre Boulle's classic
