Autumn (3 KP) rated Lips Touch: Three Times in Books
Jan 19, 2018
i was so surprised i liked this novel. actually, it's three short stories. i almost didn't get it because it looked like it was geared toward love sick 14 year olds. but Taylor has a beautiful writing style and i liked that i could tell she was from the NW in the first few pages.
Jackie Meyer (1 KP) rated Rule Number Two: Lessons I Learned in a Combat Hospital in Books
Feb 8, 2018
I read this book in two days and enjoyed it. The writing is easy to follow most of the time but doesn't water it down to the point of insulting my intelligence. This is a good look into life of deployment. I learned new ways of helping people cope with incredible situations as well.
Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2241 KP) rated Deep Water Death (Luanne Fogarty Mysteries, #2) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Luanne stumbles on a home birth, but when the midwives leave with the baby, she has to find out what happened. Again, a strong mystery and great characters held together by fantastic writing.

AmyBee (4 KP) rated Hard Girls (DI Kate Burrows, #3) in Books
Sep 5, 2018
The storyline is gripping but I am not a fan of Cole's writing style. She seems to favour repeating the same cliched metaphors and phrases and uses a lot of dialectal lingo which often is without definition. Her paragraph spacing is also quite awry. Apart from this it was a good storyline and believable characters.
Joelene Marie (28 KP) rated Whichwood in Books

Tahereh Mafi has an incredible gift. Her writing is beautiful in a way that isn't seen much these days. This companion to Furthermore is another glorious fairytale that I couldn't get enough of. I truly hope she continues this captivating series.

Yoshi (40 KP) rated Storm Front: The Dresden Files, Book 1 in Books
Oct 29, 2018
This book was recommended to me by a friend. I felt that the writing was sloppy at times (or maybe just a bit too casual for my tastes, as the previous book I finished was by CS Lewis), but still a fun read that doesn't drag the way a lot of fantasy novels do.
Bohan Reviews (215 KP) rated The Dead Don't Die (2019) in Movies
Jul 18, 2019
"It was a zombie movie, it had Bill Murray leading an all-star cast, it was at the most prestigious film festival in the world, and the trailers actually looked pretty good, what could go wrong?"
