Dana (24 KP) rated Aesthetics and Politics (Radical Thinkers) in Books
Mar 23, 2018
I, again, had to read this for my critical theory class, but this was much less accessible than the other Adorno text we read. Since this is full of other authors, they have very different writing styles that are difficult to understand. They are also basing their arguments on writings that I am not familiar with.

Get Out...of the theater.
I was obviously not offered the psychotropic drugs other were when I saw this movie. How it excelled critically is as perplexing as the unsolved mystery of the Bermuda triangle. Every corner of the movie was unpolished and predictable, but what can you expect from a first time director.
Zuky the BookBum (15 KP) rated Tom, Thom in Books

I adored this short story and the cover is incredible! I love fairy tales and legends so this was well and truly perfect for my style.
Such stunning, vivid imagery. It reminded me of Gaiman's writing throughout, beautiful and terrifying all at the same time.

Chris Hooker (419 KP) rated Rescue Me in Books
Apr 1, 2018
The chemistry between these two authors shows in their writing. Although this book didn't make me laugh out loud as much as [More Than A Kiss] is was still a light hearted romp. The characters are quirky and random things happen. Saxon and Gardner are becoming my goto authors when I need a pick me up.

Wonderful Story!
This book is hilarious from the first page to the last! The story of Arthur Dent and unfortunate events that lead up to him traversing the galaxy grab the reader! If you enjoy Science Fiction, humor, and a writing style akin to Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, definitely give this a read.
Betsy Ponce (12 KP) rated Exploding Buddha in Books
Jun 28, 2018
What a great read! This was a fun action packed page turner. Gideon Jones is such an engaging charismatic character I found myself drawn into his world and on the edge of my seat as he dealt with the perils of ninja assassins and dark magic. Do yourself a favor and get this book!
Jon Wright (0 KP) rated The Notebook (2004) in Movies
Jun 20, 2018
Great cast can't make up for poor direction
"The Notebook" is easily one of my most hated movies. As a romance, it exhausts every cliche two beautiful white people can employ. I find it to be frustrating, corny, annoying and boring. This is saying something given that I love "Atonement" and many other romances.
Caffeinated Fae (464 KP) rated Point of Retreat (Slammed, #2) in Books
Jul 12, 2018
This was an entertaining read. I enjoyed reading it. I will say that I found the writing fairly juvenile but overall enjoyable. The characters were lovable and I constantly cheered them on. I am glad that I didn't pay for this book. It was enjoyable but I will spend my money on different authors in the future.
Leah (: (569 KP) rated Kiss Me (Keatyn Chronicles book 2) in Books
Jul 26, 2018
The second book in the Keatyn Chronicles is just as good as the first. Keatyn tries to continue with her life and adjust now she is at boarding school.
The continuation of the writing style as a diary really helps you to become invested in Keatyn’s daily life and struggles.
Definitely recommend this series if you enjoy YA romances.

Joni Thomas (33 KP) rated Reputation by Taylor Swift in Music
Aug 16, 2018
I've been a Taylor fan for over 10 years. Reputation was highly anticipated and it did not disappoint. She stays with her usual song writing style. Basing her music off of her experiences in life the album gives insight into her disappearance from the public eye and her new relationship, which she has been extremely private about.
