Movie Metropolis (309 KP) rated Robin Hood (2018) in Movies
Jun 10, 2019
Taron Egerton has made quite a name for himself as the plucky Eggsy in the Kingsman franchise, but this revamp of the Robin Hood story is an absolute turd of a film. After last year’s lifeless King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, the writing really was on the wall for this overblown adventure that spectacularly achieves nothing in its running time. Can you get a refund at the cinema?

Shazam!!
I thought this movie was very good. But for a superhero movie I felt like it had more foul language and scary parts than your average hero film. I wouldn't reccomend bringing younger kids if they get scared easily. I did enjoy the humorous parts, and the part of the sidekick played by Jack Dylan Grazer was great. The writing was good, and Mark Strong as the villain is always a good choice.

Very well written and enjoyable story. There are parts that got a little confusing with the collectors and council, but I still really enjoyed it. I wasn't a big fan of the switching of characters as much as the story did. I follow easier with 1 or 2 POV's not 4 or 5. But, I loved the romance and action that was in this story. The plot is amazing and the writing catches my attention and made me want to keep reading.

ArecRain (8 KP) rated Vampire Bites in Books

It's been awhile since I read vampire stories, but his boxset was a great way to reintroduce myself back into them. What I love about (quality) box sets is that if one story isnt for you, you can move on to one that is. I have read some pretty garbage boxsets, but in this one, even if I dont like the story, I cannot find fault in the writing. These authors are talented and know how to write.

A blatantly honest, gripping story about family.
"It blew me away. I found myself constantly highlighting quotes from it, stopping to think about how incredibly relatable it is. It is a book not only about death and grieving, but the ghosts that follow you throughout your life. Anne Enright speaks your innermost unspoken thoughts, and she does so unapologetically." -my bookstagram account, rorythereader.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2353 KP) rated Shoes To Die For (A Jaine Austen Mystery, #4) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Jaine's neighbor Lance has decided it's time for her to have a makeover. It doesn't land her any new clothes, but it does land her a job writing for one of the boutiques they visit. Only then the owner is killed with a high heel. The result is another funny mystery with wild characters you can't help but like.
