It manages to tickle your ribs at every opportunity
If you don't normally like Python, you can just remember bits of dialogue and sound like the master of wit in front of your friends.
Roger the shrubber, the Black Knight, coconuts, French insults and African Swallows. It's all in there!

Rob Fuller (19 KP) rated Boston Legal - Season 2 in TV
Jul 16, 2017
Flawless
as with season 1 - This show doesn't need a long review - it's too perfect. Too funny. Too clever. the chemistry between James Spader and William Shatner as Alan and Denny respectively draws you in and makes you wish they were your buddies, that you could hang out with them on the penthouse office balcony, talking philosophically about life with a cigar in one hand and a fine scotch whiskey in the other. The cast is superb and the writing brilliant...Thank you David E Kelly et al.

Hazel (2934 KP) rated A Dark and Twisted Tide (Lacey Flint #4) in Books
Jan 12, 2018
I finished this last night and although it was good, particularly the last few chapters, it didn't grab me as much as I would like. I'm really not sure why this was but maybe it's because I have not read any of the other books in the series so I think I will read more from this author as I did like the writing style, the flow of the book and the characters.
I would like to thank the Publicist (Alison Barrow) for sending me the copy after responding to a post on Twitter.

Alison Pink (7 KP) rated Identity Crisis in Books
Jan 15, 2018
This book wasn't all bad. I love a good crime mystery book. I just found parts of this one to be VERY predictable. The premise behind the book had potential...a victim in a domestic abuse case & connection to the mob & identity theft. The idea was fantastic, but the writing to my dismay lacked much substance. All in all this was a free book & I am glad I didn't pay for it! It wasn't a complete waste of time thanks to a twist I wasn't expecting, but the characters were pretty cliche.
Dean (6927 KP) rated The Town (2010) in Movies

Great cast (1 more)
Very good action scenes
Cops and Robbers
A brilliant cops and robbers film, the best of its genre since @Heat (1995) in my eyes. Also quite similar to @The Departed (2006) so if you like those two, who doesn't? You'll want to see this. Based on an award winning book for crime writing "Prince of Thieves". This has great action, a fine cast, interesting story, the whole thing oozes class. Ben Affleck directs and does a great job. Very enjoyable check it out!
Suswatibasu (1703 KP) rated Julieta (2016) in Movies

Fabulous acting (2 more)
Wonderful cinematography
Complexity of human relations
Another beautiful film from the master Almodovar
Pedro Almodovar has such a wonderful eye for understanding the human condition. Unlike his more outlandish colourful films, this is about the tragic relationships of estranged families and the breakdown in communications. Written in the perspective of a mother whose daughter left or went missing 12 years previously, the film shows her writing a letter to her daughter about all the mistakes she made in that relationship including erasing her from her life. Really very moving and poignant.
