Not really about the New Mutants
Contains spoilers, click to show
The only thing that tied this to the X-Men was a casual mention that they thought they were being trained to become part of the group. Turned out to have nothing at all to do with the X-Men. The movie was horrible.

X-Men 3: Dark Phoenix
the X-Men Story continues with a divided team (kinda) where jean is siding with Magneto and the Brotherhood, and mystique is undecided who's side she's on. The war between the X-Men and the Brotherhood is upon them and Jean is tapping into he inner Phoenix becoming more and more powerful over time.
With word of a mutant child with an extraordinary mutant power, the X-Men must find and protect the child who is now considered a threat against the Brotherhood and the Phoenix, time is running out and mankind is about to make its Last Stand.

As a starting point and a precursor to the massive success superhero movies would come to have over the next two decades, the original X-Men movie was something of a trendsetter. Featuring a fabulous cast that brought Hugh Jackman’s snarling Wolverine into our lives as well as iconic portrayals of Professor X and Magneto by the wonderful Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, X-Men is great fun, if a little underwhelming by today’s standards. Some of the dialogue is a little off and Halle Berry’s accent for Storm is, well, truly awful.

Not the best X-Men
This X-Men seemed rather haphazardly put together. It is not the best X-Men by a long shot mostly because the scene ran from one story to another as if the director was running out of time. Even the ending where there is a destruction of a character, it was done rather quickly so it seemed like a total anti-climax. In this entire film Jean Gray was the best character, and there was zero character development. Fun to watch as a relaxing kind of mindless film though.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019) offers us the chance to dine on ashes while flipping us the bird.
To the surprise of literally nobody, rising with an entirely unmerited sense of entitlement from the ashes of “X-Men: Apocalypse”, writer/ director Simon Kinberg has only managed to conjure a turkey from the flames....

X-Men 2- Wolverines Revenge (available on ps2 & GC since 2003)
In this hit sequel, wolverine and the X-Men (pun intended) are being hunted following an assault on X mansion/school for gifted youngsters. During this, Logan/wolverine comes into contact with the leader of the assault, an unknown figure from his past, the past he doesn't remember.
Featuring some of the best Graphics and stunt work, gritty story telling & a returning cast, X-Men2 is one of the best action/sci-fi/fantasy movies of the early 2000's.

One of the best X-Men films
The X-Men have always been some of my favourite superheroes, and I loved the original 2 films (and I refuse to mention The Last Stand). Whilst First Class was a nice introduction to the younger versions of the X-Men, it wasnt great. X-Men really needed this next film to be something special, and for me it really is.
Bryan Singer really knows how to work his magic when it comes to the X-Men films and you can tell. He did it with the originals and he did it with this too. The idea to work a plot involving the original X-Men and the younger versions is a genius idea and gives us the best of both worlds. Admittedly I do wish they'd shown us more of the originals, but I dont think my heart could take much seeing them get picked off by the Sentinels.
Putting Wolverine into this works really well and new addition Quicksilver gets possibly the best scene of the entire film. And we've also got Magneto being his usual sneaky self with some great scenes of him really using his powers. Don't get me wrong the actual minute details in the plot are a little bit ridiculous and farfetched but this can be ignored for the most part as it's just an all round enjoyable film. Just a shame it's the last decent X-Men film that they've made.
