I have been waiting for [Enders] by [Lissa Price] since I read [Starters] as an ARC. I absolutely love the premise of these stories. I have recommended(and will continue) to recommend them to my students. In fact I have pretty much made [Starters] required reading for the kids in my Future Problem Solving group.

The characters are strong and I am always happy to see a female in a strong role which thankfully has been the trend in YA literature (with one blaring exception recently).

The story is fast paced, in fact I read the book in under 24 hours. [Enders] picked up right where [Starters] left off. I look forward to reading more books written by [Lissa Price].

School Shooting examined
There are a lot of school shooting YA books. Out of all of the ones I've read this one is handle the best.
Valerie is caught up and under suspicion of aiding in the shooting for writing in a book when she was stressed or been bullied. Valerie never wanted anyone to die and saved lives when the shooting happens but it doesn't help that the press don't care about that. This book is well written and deals with a hard subject matter to grasp. Unfortunately we live in a world where these events keep happening more and more frequently. This book explores why and people emotions of it and it written so well.

I absolutely adore Prudence, both the book and the girl. I don’t have a single bad thing to say about it other than I wish I had the next book in the series right now, because I’m quite unhappy to leave her world.

Gail Carriger has a knack for making incredible characters full of life and wit and hilarity. Every story I’ve ever read by her has made me want to jump right into the book and live there. It doesn’t even matter which character I’d be, as long as I was there. Added to that is her eloquent, witty, and distinct writing style. I wholeheartedly recommend Prudence to any fan of YA fiction, drama, romance, adventure, or supernatural adventures in an air ship.

Finale
I really enjoyed the first two books which were set during the two games of Caraval that the two sisters Scarlett and Donatella were involved in. This one not so much. There wasn't a game as such, it was more about saving the land from an evil tyrant.
The concept of the Fates was good. I think in a book written for adults this could have been explored in more depth, but this is for a younger audience so detail was lost.
And oh for goodness sake, what's with all the kissing!!!! It is essentially a book about love, and obviously for a YA audience (the main characters are about 16 and 18) but there was just too much of it.

Percy is a bit whiny at times. (0 more)
If you are looking for something Harry Potter like but more swords and fighting the Percy Jackson series is for you. Percy is a 12 year old who discovers his true lineage as the son of a Greek god. He is then thrust into the world of heroes and monsters. Percy can be very whiny at times but fellow heroes Annabeth and Grover balance him out with wit and humor. Although it is a YA title there is violence that includes death so if you might not want to read it to small children. All in all, it is a great book and better series give it go.

Siege and Storm
Leigh Bardugo | 2013 | Young Adult (YA)
This continuation of the story started in Shadow and Bone has Alina running from the Darkling, the Apparat, and at times even trying to run from her own power and the person she is becoming. I thought the author did a good job keeping the dynamics between the characters from getting stale while still keeping them believable. Whenever there is a romance (especially, it seems, in YA), there has to be some type of conflict to keep it interesting if it is going to span a series. Here there is conflict both within Alina’s inner circle and from without, which keeps it interesting and keeps the story flying along at a fast pace. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series!

Quick to read
I read this on holiday, in two sittings. Only because I had to get up from my first sitting to get a drink before burning up.

I felt that this was one of those YA novels that is very typical. We have the main character, someone who wants everything they can't have. We have the boyfriend of the friend, who she wants and who wants her, but neither can have.

But then, then we have the dead girl.

I don't know how I truly felt about this one, it definitely plays with your mind. It's a good start to psychological thrillers if that's a genre you want to explore more, but for me, it felt like a meh book.

Almost perfect

Based on the world wide videogame franchise phenomenon, Hitman follows a highly trained silent assassin, known only as Agent 47, who after learning of a plot against him possibly stemming from his organizations HQ, he is quickly thrown into a game of cat and mouse with interpol agent's quickly closing in on him.

Timothy Olyphant stars as Agent 47 in this barrel blazing, hardcore action/thriller story of violent retribution.

Fantastic stunt action, edge of your seat combat sequences & superb special effects.

Actually considered the worst of the two (unless you've actually seen both, then ya know better) this is one of the closest I've seen to a perfect videogame movie adaptation.
