YA love story
I remember this book being compelling for the situations the two young characters had to overcome to express their love for each other, a very troubled home that needs to be escaped, and a cassette player.

i think this book and me just met at the wrong time because when I finally got I to this I did really enjoy it however it took me a FRICKING long time to get into it. I was in a YA rut and this was the first non YA book that I read in a LONG time and I just don't think I was ready for the world of adult fiction again but this book honestly was so well written and such an uplifting story it just didn't agree with me right now but I would like to give it another chance but for now it's a no

Stayed fairly true to book
Amanlda is fast becoming queen of Ya adaptations
I throughly enjoyed this film. For the most part the cast is relatively unknown but it been proven in Dystopic ya books to film adaptions this works well.

With the hate u give coming out the end of the year Amandla Stenberg is proving to be a force to be recoken with within the YA film genre. She is able to captive and keep the film moving.

It rare to find a film that keep true to a books premise and plot however this film did just that.

Honestly this has been sat on my kindle for ages, I just never got round to it. Now I'm really enjoying it! Wolf pack YA type book, easy reading without being too "tacky", definitely going to follow this series for a bit.

A must read YA series!
A great introduction to a universe you wish was real. The book draws you in from the beginning, making you root for Clary as she discovers she belongs to a regal group of demon hunting warriors called Shadowhunters. I would recommend this book, and series, to anyone.

I bought this book while on holiday in Queensland because I had finished my other one, I am a huge YA fan, and it was relatively inexpensive. I am so glad that I did. I pretty much devoured the novel over the course of one day because I was so hooked. Besides being minorly predictable to those of us who have read their fair share of YA fiction, Holland did an excellent job of blending just the right amount of romance and adventure to keep me wanting to read more. I can't wait to read the next book.

I wanted this book to be so much better than it was because I liked the premise so much. I should have known better, however, since this has a very YA feel to it. It fit the syllabus that every YA uses to a T and I found myself disappointed.

Overall, I still enjoyed the book. I liked CIpher as a person and it was interesting reading from both Cipher's and Knightly's POV. I also liked the world the author created as well as the the fact that there was a female friendship.

However, I felt the book would have been much better had the author focused on the action rather than the romance.

Good But Predictable
This book was a fun fantasy read, however it was often predictable. Many of the events were stereo typical things I have seen in a lot of other YA novels. It was a good book it just didn't have any qualities that really made it stand out. I would still suggest it to others, but hopefully when the second book comes out it brings more to the table.

I received this book as an advanced copy.
I was initially intrigued because the description listed it as Jane Austen meets X-Men and I'd have to say that's pretty accurate. I randomly find myself thinking about it because I feel like I don't often read too many historical fantasy novels in the YA genre. Themes are similar to those found in many other YA texts but not in a tired, over done way. Looking forward to reading the next one.
