This book is a great read for a younger audience looking for a good YA series to sink your teeth into. Although there are many YA tropes and cliches, the premise of the book is interesting enough for this stereotypes to be overlooked.
The story is short so it won't take particularly long to read. I, being a slow reader, read the book is six hours.
As I said, the concept of the book is interesting, inviting you to question opinions on morality and immortality. The book does contain mild abuse because of the dystopian elements in the book however they are not graphic in detail.
I loved reading this book when I was younger and I am still enjoying rereading as an adult.

Honestly, I devoured this book. It wasn’t hard to read and was a nice quick book. I did sort of enjoy it because it was a lighthearted book and a nice little YA read for a change.
However, Tess, the protagonist isn’t the most likeable. Her whole narration seems just like she’s complaining about everything and anything. She’s selfish, and to be honest she’s the typical YA protagonist that I’ve been trying to avoid by not reading YA any more.
Fair enough it was an entertaining book. It had an average plot that was slightly lacking, but as it was a YA it was all easy to follow and easy to read without getting bored.
Another reason behind my low rating is that I just didn’t find any of the characters realistic at all. They were all YA stereotypes – The Quiet One, The Fat Ones, and The Pretty Ones – and its just become overused and is now almost a satire of what true YA actually is.
I wouldn’t say I regret buying this. I’m trying to read more YA, and it was a quick read, it’s just definitely not something I’ll want to read again and I’m not sure it’s something I’d recommend unless you’re a really big fan of YA.

I really enjoyed this book. YA is a great genre, and normally the YA books I read fit into the fantasy realm, so reading this book was a bit out of character for me. However, I was inspired after having watching the movie (out of boredom) and then months later hearing people rant about how great this book was. It was definitely worth the fuss. So much so that it has a permanent place in my book collection.

I received a copy of this book to review. Book 1 in the YA The Sentinel Series the book introduces the reader to Nine. An action packed story that left me wanting more. Great characters in a story that I enjoyed!

My favorite book series!
I highly recommend this book to any YA book lover! The romance and thrill element of it keeps you hooked from the beginning! Richelle Mead is a phenomenal writer!

This was an okay YA horror book, I love her The Merciless series but this just fell a little flat not bad or anything just not memorable.
