"Children’s stories? Well, yes, but I found these books to be infinitely more enjoyable as an adult. In fact, I read these magical, vividly visual tales approximately every two to three years, because with each reading I discover more and more content and allusion."

"Proof that great music doesn’t have to be pipe-and-slippers highbrow. This is a club banger laced with Aphex Twin-esque keys from Memphis, Tennessee, that keeps on banging 15 years later. An ode to self-medication of the over-the-counter variety.’"

"Land of the Lost is my favorite movie. I know I’m not objective, but it’s my favorite movie and all the fans that we entertained for all those years — we did them a turn, now they’ve got to do us one. Come on June 5!"

"This is a song on a recent album, John Kander: Hidden Treasures, which is a collection of demos that John and his late lyricist partner Fred Ebb recorded over the last 65 years. This is a beautiful life-affirming song I can't wait to sing."

"This dark, absurd, and subversive treasure lay hidden for many years, even after Bulgakov’s death, such was the fear of reprisal for such a pointed, authentic stab at life under the tyrannical malevolence of Uncle Joe and the withering Soviet climate of the time."

"After I opened the Zero Maria Cornejo store, Diane Von Furstenburg gave me this book and I wish I had read it years earlier. It’s not how I came up with the brand name, but I love how it expands upon the idea of “zero.”"

"This is going back a few years, but I remember really loving the movie Sexy Beast. It’s a little bit of a departure from Mary Poppins. [laughs] The screenplay was so excellent and the acting was amazing, and there were so many surprises in it."

"Seeing Ashes and Diamonds again after forty years, I realized how beautifully Wajda married his romantic flair and his unerring sense of history. Zbigniew Cybulski looks as timeless as Brando or Louise Brooks, his maimed glance between those sunshades accusing the postwar world of betrayal."

It's been a few years between book 4 and this one and it took me a while to get back into the series. But once I did, somewhere around the half way mark, I pretty much devoured the story.

I'm off to start book 6.
