Sarah (7798 KP) rated Enola Holmes (2020) in Movies
Sep 28, 2020
Millie Bobby Brown is wonderfully endearing and enigmatic as Enola, and even Henry Cavill as Sherlock wasn't half bad (I actually wish there could have been more of him in this). The problem is the story and whole premise of this film. It's trying to say something about female empowerment but then contradicts itself constantly by Enola spending her entire time trying to outwit her brother and chasing around after a boy. It's also a little lacking in actually mystery - the story it puts forwards is rather dull and not particularly mysterious. This film seems to be aimed at a younger audience, and for adults is just an average kids film. Indeed this is probably a film best suited for young/teenage girls and not one I'd recommend if you're not a teenager!

An interesting and intriguing story that not only entertains but is thought provoking.
The first few pages are pretty tame, I'll be honest they pulled me into a false sense of security but oh my was I was hit with a surprise! It definitely had me invested in Charlie Adamson, his development and role within the story.
Each page is expertly written to keep you hooked and waiting for more. Although a work of fiction there are many aspects that are either rooted in facts or at the very least have a glimmer of truth that keeps you thinking throughout.
This is one of the stories that once I've started reading I can't bare to put it down as I need to know what happens. Also, I'd be happy if it was made into a movie or series (with nothing removed please!)
I'd recommend for mature young adults onwards and definitely a great book club read, the discussions would be brilliant!

Although geared toward a Young Adult crowd, many older adults will also enjoy this book. More so, If your a fan of horror and/or the supernatural. I found myself really enjoying this book as each chapter progressed and found It hard to put down at times. The storyline keeps you enthralled with wanting to know what will happen and It even has some surprise moments that you won't be expecting. This adds more depth to the story and pulls you In like a magnet wanting to know what the outcome will be. Grab a copy for yourself and find out what Haven, Kansas has In store.

He seem to attract attention when something happens when he with is friends. What happens then goes not to be an adventure for him and his friend. Liam want freedom will get it? His friend Nick is set up for life. They are becoming Earth Mars Citizens. Someone or something is attacking their home. Will Liam reach the stars or will he not. Find out how this book end. The authors does really well on the plot of this story. It bring you along for the ride. I could not stop reading and wanted more. What will happen to Nick James and Liam Hoffen? I hope to find out more by reading the next book. I just got to find out when it will be out. Great for teens and young adult readers. If you are into space or thrillers this really good for you as well.
