Somewhat bungled monster-horror movie. A trail of decapitated bodies leads from the Chicago docks to the city's Natural History Museum. A police detective and an evolutionary biologist figure out that recently-arrived samples from Brazil may be involved, and that something new may be living in the museum basement. Should they stop the imminent gala evening? Nah!

Definite potential here for an odd mash-up of The X Files and The Poseidon Adventure, but problems with the pacing, exposition and structure mean that the movie never quite takes flight in the way it could have. Decent performances, some good dialogue in places and a decent monster, but should have been much better. As it is, passes the time reasonably engagingly.

Adventure Lives Forever
Van Helsing- tired to atempt starting a universe that didnt happen. Tired to start a franchise/spin-offs that didnt happen. But other than that its good. Hugh Jackman is good as Van Helsing.

The plot: Famed monster slayer Gabriel Van Helsing (Hugh Jackman) is dispatched to Transylvania to assist the last of the Valerious bloodline in defeating Count Dracula (Richard Roxburgh). Anna Valerious (Kate Beckinsale) reveals that Dracula has formed an unholy alliance with Dr. Frankenstein's monster (Shuler Hensley) and is hell-bent on exacting a centuries-old curse on her family. Together Anna and Van Helsing set out to destroy their common enemy, but uncover some unsettling secrets along the way.

Its a good film.

A Great book !
I got totally engrossed in this story and truly learned some new things ! It made me want to read the other books in this series that Barbour Publishing is putting out. This was such rich historical story it was like being there! Kathleen Y'Barbo really made history come alive in this book and it is filled with adventure.
While it was not my favorite book by Kathleen Y'Barbo it really was a great read and kept me interested throughout the whole book.
I give this book 4 out of 5 stars, for good history, lovely characters, and family focus.
I volunteered to read this book from Barbour Publishing in return for my honest opinion. The thoughts and opinions expressed within are my own.

Good book. It was a little hard to follow at first, but once I got into it I did enjoy it. The main character (Colleen) is very much like a lot of people. We all want to be different, always looking for the next adventure, never quite satisfied with life the way it is and God uses that quality in us to put us in the path of being able to minister to other people. Just like Colleen is able to do to Grace ( the secondary character). I liked this story and would reccomennded reading it. It will most definitely not be my last by this author.

I was given this book for free. The opinions expressed within the review are my own.

The comics can be a little hard to get out of the skipcase

A gripping and scary series!
The slipcase edition contains all 6 paperback volumes in the main Locke and Key series.

It follows the tale of the Locke family who have moved to Keyhouse.

This series sees horror, grief, magic and good vs evil in a gipping storyline that keeps you on the edge of you seat all the way through.

I would 100% recommend this to both new and old graphic novel lovers looking for their next adventure to read.
