A Superb Debut Album!
An excellent debut album from a very talented musician.
The songwriting on this album, done entirely by herself and her brother, is excellent, creating a dark, yet somehow relatable atmosphere throughout. Once I first heard the beat of "Bad Guy" I knew I wanted more, so I purchased this album and her 2017 EP "Don't Smile at Me".
The production on the album, also done by her brother is good, but the use of vocoding (not autotuning!) is used gratuitously throughout, especially on "Xanny", occasionally masking the singer's soft, excellent voice.

Rolling Stone's 480th greatest album of all time
This is Raekwon's, real name Raemond Kwon (joke), debut solo album on a brief break from WuTang Klan. I like my hip hop with a good amount of focus on the actual music, and for me this was somewhat missing throughout the album. This means the album is more of a collection of shouts over basic drum beats. Add to this the frequent interludes of people arguing and swearing at each other (seriously how and why do they record these interludes?!) it makes the album a little boring and samey.

Rolling Stone's 465th greatest album of all time
3-discs (again, is this an "album"?!) of dreary lo-fi folky songs. I wanted to like this album when I started it but quickly realised this wasn't going to happen. The main singer's voice reminds me of the annoying musical interludes in "There's Something About Mary". Not in a good way. This was a real challenge to listen through.
I do wonder, given the name of the album, if you could play the album backwards and play it on top and it might be more enjoyable? ;P
