Star Trek: the animated series is also known as season 4 of the original series. Kirk, Spock and the rest of the original cast return for one more run of 22 episodes. The are joined by new, alien crew members and tangle with Klingon's, Romulan's, Tribbles and Harry Mudd as well as a whole host of new races and beings.
Being animated means the aliens can look less human and the crew find themselves in more bizarre adventures.
The animated series has the same tone as the original series and the stories, although shorter have a very similar feeling. There are a few stories that seem to have influential later episodes from other series, including the first holo-deck story although here it's just known as the rec room.

"I thought this was a really interesting mix of horror and sex. There are so many sexual references, from the robot attacking Sigourney Weaver, and he rolls up a magazine and stuffs it down her throat, I mean, wow! Or the fact that Ash’s blood looks like semen, it’s just a lot of that kind of stuff. Deep, deep psychological sexual stuff; like calling the computer ‘Mother’. It’s really fascinating, and I think that’s why it’s so successful in scaring you. It places imagery that’s deep and sexual in a horror show. It’s designed to scare people, all this stuff that is repressed, and gets inside their psyche and is truly uncomfortable, and I think it’s right in (Alien artist and production designer) HR Giger‘s designs, I think sex is what we’re all afraid of."

Alien Covenant, well, what do I say? I managed to meet some Unlimited nerds today. The guy sitting next to me sees so many films it makes me feel like I'm slacking! But even he fell asleep during the film. At one point I seriously considered going home because I was so bored. Beginning and end, okay. Middle, zzzzzz... sorry, I fell asleep that time too.Alien Covenant, well, what do I say? I managed to meet some Unlimited nerds today. Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983)
1983 | Fantasy, Sci-Fi
Let me start out with this: yes, I love space bears. Ewoks are my favorite alien species out of the entire universe.
Return of the Jedi is my favorite out of the original trilogy, and it's the one I've watched the most, with A New Hope coming in second. I thought it was awesome that Leia dressed up as the bounty hunter to free Han.
The scenes on Endor are my favorite, because it reminded me of the woods my grandmother lived in. This specific film inspired a lot of the stories I wrote as a kid.
Now, I do have a beef with the remastered versions: I absolutely HATE the 'NOOOOO' from Darth Vader when he goes for the Emperor, it's the worst and it makes me cringe every time I hear it.

Lovecraft Country
Lovecraft Country
2020 | Drama, Fantasy, Horror
I usually wait until the end of a season to post about a show I've watched, but after just the first episode of Lovecraft Country I had to make sure everyone knows about this new show. From the opening scene I was sucked in with the force of an alien's tentacle. While hitchhikers may have a guide to the galaxy, in 1950's America a guide had to be written letting traveling black people know where it was safe to travel and stop during said travels. While writing the guide and also searching for a missing family member, the main characters played by the amazing talents of Jonathan Majors, Courtney B. Vance, and the oh so beautiful Jurnee Smollett are having to battle two evils, alien creatures and racist white men.
