I loved this movie. The story was good as was the back story of Elise. I loved the jump scares as they make the movie fun for me. I also loved how they left it open for another movie. (0 more)

This movie was pretty great in my opinion. The jump scares make a movie fun. I loved the back story of Elise and what she had to go through as a child. The whole thing of her being beat by her dad because of her gifts was pretty sad. I was not expecting all of the stuff Elise found when coming back to her own childhood home that her dad had done. I also loved that one of Elise's nieces has the same gift as her. I'm loving the fact that they left it open for another movie with the help of Elise for the grandchild of the little boy from the first movie.

For such a short book this was pleasant to listen to - I saw the movie ages ago and I honestly remembered nothing of the end of this book - I didn't realize it was a series either - kind of makes me want to read the rest. The psychology around this character and the whole book was epic and Norman is kind of a villain you love in a way - or at least for me - it also kind of makes me want to watch the movie again. A must read I'd say if you've seen movie.

"I watched this movie dozens of times as a kid. I could not get enough of Bill Murray at that kitchen table. I don’t think this movie could be made today. Any movie whose story is even remotely similar becomes a joke. But while Tootsie is very, very funny, it is not a joke. Dustin Hoffman’s commitment to his portrayal of Michael Dorsey/Dorothy Michaels turns something that could have just been silly into a grounded and relatable story about the challenges of being not only an artist but also a human being."

"One of my favorite films has always been Tootsie. I think I fell in love with New York and the romantic idea of being an actor from that movie. I saw it in a theater when I was really young and I don’t think I understood it all, but I remember people laughing so hard and I just knew I was watching a great movie. And all that stuff between Dustin Hoffman and Sydney Pollack is amazing. I revisit that movie a lot. I think, again it has that effect — it’s a very bittersweet movie, because it’s really funny but it also has those great sweet, honest moments. And it’s about a guy wearing a dress. I mean, it’s amazing that they pulled that movie off."

It feels as if they didn't know what kind of movie they wanted to make. The film was unfocused and all over the place. Not completely a high school movie, not completely an origin, not completely a teenage romance...It was a little bit of 4 or 5 different movies, none of it blending well. Also entirely too silly.

"I remember Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid being one of the first movies I saw as a kid. So I’ll also always equate it with discovering what a movie was. Being a young boy, and here’s my introduction to movies — it still feels like the most gigantic movie in terms of how big and beautiful it was, and the cool factor. Two amazing guys to watch."

"The Room has been called the worst movie ever made, but it is also a cult favorite and has become the new Rocky Horror Picture Show in the midnight movie circuit. Sestero, one of the actors in the film, relates the twisted story of the making of The Room, and beautifully captures the admirable will, and the insane solipsism that is Tommy Wiseau, the mad and ultimately sympathetic man behind getting such a movie made."

Great movie, very true to what soldiers experienced. Probably a contributing factor to Band of Brothers series which was also phenomenal. Well researched.

This movie wasn’t bad persay, and I think it did a fairly good job of adapting the source material, it just also wasn’t very good. The script and the acting could’ve used some work.

"The single most touching teen movie happens to come from Scotland. About the pain of unrequited love, but it’s also very funny. Gregory’s connection with his little sister who looks after him is one of my favorite screen friendships and almost makes me cry in certain moments. A perfect movie."
