"Have just watched The Exterminating Angel for the first time since fuzzy VHS in University of Texas A/V library. He is my hero. Mike Nichols said in the newspaper he thinks of Buñuel every day, which I believe I do, too, or at least every other."

Hilarious and very British
If you loved Shaun of the dead, you will love this movie too! Sergeant Angel is the best performing police officer in London, and he is sent to the quiet village of Stanford. While everything is quiet and people seem nice, something seems odd and Angel is about to uncover the mystery.

I loved the British humor in this movie, and all the action! Also, it is amazing to see some legendary actors appear as well (the actors that play The Hound from Game of Thrones and Argus Filch from Harry Potter).

Definitely a good choice to spend some time in a good atmosphere! Highly recommended.

While i totally agree with the score (i'm a huge western fan) once upon a time in the west or the original magnificent seven give it a run for it's money

"I’ve read everything Thomas Wolfe ever wrote; my brother and I memorized whole chapters of You Can’t Go Home Again and Look Homeward, Angel. It’s hard to select just one of Wolfe’s books, but his story of a man who leaves his North Carolina town to seek a better life was probably the most important to me."

This was a good YA fantasy, especially for younger teens. There's no bad language or sex, and the teens acted very much like teens. A sweet love story, a bit of mystery, and another world all combine to make this a fun listen!

Angel Clark did a great job with the female teens voices, inflections and all.

Angel Gomez is a single mother, doing the best she can to raise and support her son. Finishing up her nursing degree and working as a bartender has Angel always busy. When she meets Duke, a Yankees pitcher, she doesn't even know who he is, but he needs her help. His team can't know he's not ready to take the mound, so Duke needs Angel to pretend they are dating so he has an excuse for why he's visiting the clinic where she works. But Angel has enough drama in her life with her boss's trying to hit on her all the time, to be worried about Duke's drama as well. Will she go along with the fake dating or will she pass?

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I have been watching Basketball Wives from the very first season. Then Evelyn Lozada had a shoe store in Miami. Now she's living in L.A. as a single mom to 2 children and is still on Basketball Wives. I can hear her in this book. Her voice rings through Angel's character.

Now this book was no literary piece of art, but it held my attention throughout. I didn't like the repetitiveness of the book and there were a couple of things in there that seemed so unreal. Overall, I enjoyed the book. I got it because of watching the show and I wanted to see what it was all about.

This is probably more of a 3.5 star book, mainly due to the slow start that didn't build up until close to the halfway point. I almost stopped reading because it hardly featured the main cast, Angel (duh), Doyle and Cordelia, in that first half. Luckily that was rectified later and it ended up being an enjoyable read. The characterizations were fine; they didn't seem off, but they weren't particularly on either. Even though I'm not big on cult storylines, what twists there were made up for that fact so I didn't mind it so much. The end was somewhat abrupt, but it did end on a high note so that's a mark on the pro list. All in all, a good and entertaining entry in the Angel book series.

This book was AMAZING! [Ken Williams] tells the inside story of working with the homeless in the backyard of the rich and famous. In [Fractured Angel] he draws on his own experiences to create a fictionalized account of a social worker, a mother, and a fifteen year old runaway all trying to cope with their demons. [Williams] has a way with storytelling and the empathy he shows for all his characters shows through in his words.

Not as good as the first X men film but better than the second. There are a few plot holes but nothing that distracted me from the overall story. I thought there would be more of a story around the "Angel" character especially as there was a scene devoted to him at the beginning of the film , not sure why they did that when he went on to play such a minor part?
