Great for a dark sense of humour. (0 more)
A good mix of both Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaimam
This story is about a demon and an angel trying to find the anti-christ and stop the apocalypse. It has a very similar style to all of Terry Pratchett's books. It is nice to read something written by him that isn't set in the discworld (no matter how much I love them).
It is full of the two authors dark humour and being set in England means that there are loads of little bits that are recognisable.
Some of my favourite parts are when they discribe certain aspects of the country that have been designed by demons to torture humans (like the M25!)
Thoroughly enjoyed this read.

"They were on Casablanca Records. They were the yin to Kiss’s yang. Kiss were dressed up in black and Angel were in white. They had this remarkable guitar player called Punky Meadows who Frank Zappa actually made fun of in songs. But he had some remarkable songs like Tower and Any Way You Want. They were almost proggish to a degree, but really great songs. I always wondered about doing a cover of the song Tower. The singer had this really weird voice. You have to be super open-minded to appreciate it because he has such a super-fast vibrato, and a lot of people won’t find that appealing. But they were one of my favourite bands growing up."

"Another film with Alain Delon. It’s interesting — probably he was my favorite actor when I was 16, and then I was a bit disappointed of how he changed when he became older. I guess also politically, but that doesn’t matter. As a young man, he played some very enigmatic and wonderful roles. Another favorite film of mine … It’s a genre film, Le Samourai, by Melville. It’s an incredibly cool gangster film. Just the opening, I think, is 20 minutes where not a word is spoken and you always see Alain Delon with his hat and his trench coat. It is just an incredibly stylish and aesthetically wonderfully shot genre gangster film. In German, it’s the Ice Cold Angel, but the Germans always have these funny titles."

I was one of those who wandered how they would do a second season of a show based on a single book, when the entirety of that book had been covered in season one.

The answer, it turns out, is that Gaiman and Pratchett had ideas for a sequel, which nothing ever came off.

Gaiman is one of the showrunners here (as he was in season 1).

This, even more than that earlier season, concentrates on the pairing of the angel Aziraphale and the demon Crowley, with lots of flashes of the two of them throughout the years since the Creation, and here trying to uncover just why the Archangel Gabriel has arrived at Aziraphale's bookshop with absolutely no memory at all.

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I love this book so much. It's got a little bit of everything and the story (kinda based on actual events?) plays out superbly.

Poor Christine has no idea that the Angel of Music she's being so thoughtful tutored by is the dreaded Opera Ghost.

The dashing Raoul determined to save his childhood friend.

The OG (you probably know his name but let's let that be a surprise for those that don't know!) who feels destined to wander the opera house.

It all starts with a hanging man, a man whose noose mysteriously disappears.

This story has been told many tests and I don't want to sound like a snobby purist but I honestly think this is the best version.
