Mothergamer (1546 KP) rated Animal Crossing: New Horizons in Video Games

I finally got a chance to play Animal Crossing New Horizons. I have loved Animal Crossing since the Gamecube so it was great to be able to check this one out. There is a lot to do and it's real time so you can take your time with each thing. Being able to visit my friends on their islands and having them come visit me was a lot of fun. The crafting aspect of Animal Crossing is great too and adds an extra layer to the game. If you can get in to Stardew Valley, you will likely spend hundreds of hours in it. You would be hard-pressed to find a game that has a better value proposition.
It is a lot like Animal Crossing, but with less focus on home decoration (although it's there), and more focus on farming. Oh, and there is combat in this one too.

I liked it, but I didn't love it.
I had had the original Animal Crossing game once upon a time, and vaguely remembered liking it, so I decided to give this one a try. Pocket Camp was fun for a while, but very swiftly settled into monotonous and just couldn't keep my attention. There's only so far cute characters and arranging your campsite can carry you before you start needing a little bit of something else going on.

Mario Party: Animal Crossing Style
Extremely reminicent of Mario Party, you travel around a game board over the course of a month and try to get the most points. Each month has special events but other than that it's exactly the same. It's fun to play one or two rounds but anymore at a time becomes tedious.
It's a cute game that is fun in small spurts, but has low replay value.

Idle game. I don't hate games that just end, and then you restart to play all over again, but games that just play on and on are so cool. Especially with Nintendo where they update every month or so with new features and characters. I've always loved Animal Crossing but the graphics are so much better and we still have all the loveable characters. #iloveraymond. It can get a bit boring doing the same thing over and over, but its worth getting the Nintento pass to visit other towns and now with the dream update, you can steal ideas from people and change your island to your own style!
