A Christmas virus
Another Christmas horror movie for the books, where the inbetweeners meets shaun of the dead (part of the actual description) in this emotional muscal ride of apocalyptic proportions as a virus quickly spreads through the world causing a Zombie outbreak where a local school is named a one of the "safe zones" (we all know what that's code for, right?) with plenty of gory kills and musical numbers perfectly written for there scenes, this apoca-flick is well worth a watch.
Amazon Prime's adaptation of the Fallout games, although - having never played any of those games - I cannot say how close (or otherwise) it sticks to the source material.
It's primarily post apocalyptic set, a kind of retro future in that it starts in an alternate 1960s and then jumps on 200 odd years, with Ella Purnell the main lead of the story as she ventures aboveground from Vault 33 for the first time in her life in search of her kidnapped father.
Of course, things are not always as they seem ...

Pre-Code apocalyptic disaster movie boldly goes where Roland Emmerich would follow several times; also manages to be almost definitively non-compliant with the Bechdel test. A series of unexplained disasters including floods and earthquakes destroy civilisation; in the aftermath resourceful lawyer Martin hooks up with plucky society girl Claire, little realising his wife and children survived the catastrophe. Then fate brings them all back together...
The destruction of New York is the most celebrated sequence in the movie, and it stands up relatively well as an example of practical effects in action, but it happens in the first quarter of the movie. Most of the rest of it is concerned with surprisingly familiar post-apocalyptic themes - people come together and struggle to rebuild, raiders prey on settlements, people question familiar moral standards, and so on. The film's gender politics are startling, to say the least: women appear to have no rights and are basically property (and then civilisation crumbles, ha ha). It is interesting and indicative that the film ends with the affirmation of the traditional moral order. Not exactly subtle or nuanced, and the acting is fairly robotic, but it's pacy and the story is an engaging one. An interesting movie that suggests things haven't changed as much as we sometimes think.

A demented tragic inversion of The Road
When I first started reading this, I was expecting an apocalyptic type novel - which in some ways it was for the main character Peggy.
Her father, who should have protected her, took the young child down an extremely dark path in this novel concluding with the ultimate horror in its final climax.
If I mention the themes it will probably end up spoiling the story but it is not a traditional Armageddon plot.
A trigger warning is required with this tragic, terrible story so read with an open mind.

[The Disease] by [George Hamilton] was a medical thriller that pits government loyalty versus the good of humanity. I would like to say this was a post apocalyptic story but sadly I can see events like this being possible today.
The characters of Olga and Ludmilla face choices that will not only affect them but possibly the entire world. The setting is an Eastern European nation while a pandemic rages. Ludmilla is a doctor and "Daughter of the Nation", while Olga her daughter is a dissident. Who can be trusted and what is the right choice are themes throughout this novel.

An apocalyptic world with the last of humanity riding a super train through a frozen wasteland. The passengers are thrown into a caste system where the poor ride the back of the train in filth and squalor while the rich live a happy well fed life at the front. Now it's up to Chris Evans to lead his gang of poor outcasts to the front of the train fighting their way through carriages of violent surprises and deadly passengers on the way. This is a thriller you'll want to watch again and again until theres' no nails left for you to bite.

Strong plot
A thoroughly good read. It’s got the apocalyptic future, suspense, super scary moments and a main character you’re totally rooting for to succeed. There is a part that threw me...he meets a cult in the tunnels and they sound so much like the Jehovah’s Witnesses I did a double take. They call their ‘churches’ the Hall of the Kingdom, JWs call them Kingdom Halls. There is a sermon given that could have been read straight from one of their brochures, got me wondering if the author used to be a JW or studied with them.

You know how after watching Narnia you want to climb in your wardrobe and go there as well? That is the exact feeling watching this movie gives you.
Absolutely amazing movie definitely one of thos that you can re watch multiple times and never get sick of it.
Post apocalyptic scenario where all entertainment is in the digital world - amazing the way they portray it. Just makes you wish you could put on one of the costumes and try it yourself.
It definitely keeps you guessing and also very action packed.
