The very first Sherlock Holmes novel, it's interesting reading this to see how the character is pretty much already fully formed, and to compare both Holmes and Watson to the various interpretations of each that follows.

This is where Watson first meets Holmes and takes lodgings with him in 221b Baker Street, and where Holmes science of deductive reasoning is first shared with the former following the investigation into a murder in London, that proves to have ties to the Church of the Latter Day Saints ie the Mormons.

Elementary - Season 6
Elementary - Season 6
2017 |
Each season of CBS's 'Elementary' has had a through-line that runs throughout that season, usually sprinkled in between the 'case of the week' format.

This time around, that through-line is the serial killer Michael, who befriends Sherlock during a drug user meeting, and bases his recovery on what Sherlock once said: "my work gives me purpose".

For reasons I'm not going to go into, the season ends with, I thought, the perfect ending, with Holmes and Warson back where they belong in 221B Baker Street, London

So I have been play this for while.

Totally love the game, one of the best Resident Evils I have played. The graphics and SFX set a very tense atmosphere. The graphics in particular are very crisp and it almost looks real. This is true for Baker family and other Humans you meet.

Monsters less look realistic in comparison. Though do give great jump scare. Not sure on their official name but I call the "Venomites", The tall tendrily creatures that the Bakers seem to have are creepy as hell.

The puzzles are you standard Resident Evil fare, which is good and really enjoyable for fans of the older entries in particular.

The boss fights are something else, So far I fought Ma & Pa Baker. These were tough to beat. Using a lot of different attacks to keep you guessing. No QTEs, just good old wits, skill and hoping your ammo does not run out.

I particularly like the story, keeps you guessing and wondering if and how this fits into the rest of Resident Evil universe.

I recommend this to anyone who loves a good scary game. Just maybe don't play before bed.

Tina Baker just gets better and better. Make Me Clean is about Maria, a cleaner, who always seems to be able to get herself involved with the wrong people. Or rather, the wrong situation.

Maria is clearly hiding from someone or something. She makes sure she operates under everyones radar. She’s nervous, lonely and seemingly vulnerable. At least that’s what it appears to begin with.

As Maria’s story is told, we learn just what kind of trouble she has managed to get herself into, and it’s possibly the worst kind. As the flower bed in Elsie’s back garden would attest to. But, you see, Maria is also a very caring person. She cares for Elsie like she’s the most important person in the world. And to Maria, she is.

Tina Baker gets under the skin of her characters, and I really think she’s hit the jackpot with Maria. The writing is superb. The juxtaposition between Murderous Maria and Vulnerable Maria become more blurred as the book goes on.

I felt sorry for a woman who becomes increasingly stabby.

I can’t wait to see where, and with whom, Tina takes us next.

Highly recommended.

Many thanks to The Pigeonhole and to Tina for reading along.
