"Of Jane Eyre, I just want to say that if you think you know the book because you’ve seen a movie based on it, do think again."

"A brilliant Pulitzer Prize-winning book about how the modern world was formed, analyzing how societies developed differently on different continents. I like how this is written from a biologist’s point of view rather than purely based on history or anthropology."

"Maybe the greatest novel ever written, but I haven’t read them all! It’s all of humankind head-on by Dostoevsky. A mix of sadism and humor. In Poland I shot a movie by Andrzej Wajda based on this great book."

"My favorite film is a Fred Astaire film called A Damsel in Distress. It’s without Ginger Rogers, but it’s based on a P.G. Woodhouse book, who is my favorite author of all time, and he wrote the script. And it’s hilarious, and it’s wonderful. Astaire is amazing in it. Joan Fontaine is 22 years old. It’s beautiful, and it’s based on this wonderful Woodhouse book. I watch that at least once a year. And it’s got Burns and Allen, and they’re hilarious. It’s a great film."

A great thriller based on the book by John Grisham. A kid witnesses the suicide of a lawyer for the mafia and gets caught up in a case to bring them down....if the mafia don't get him first. Great film.

Such a fascinating book! It was hard to put down. The fact that it is largely based on real life people who experienced these horrors makes it even more chilling. Great read!

I watched this on Netflix and I did enjoy this, a lot more than i expected. I'm a gamer myself and I got the excitement of going into a VR type world and playing games like that. Who doesn't love finding easter eggs in games?

I enjoyed the storyline. It was new and fun and I was cheering on the good guys from early on. I wonder if they'll make a film based on the second book? If they do, I'll watch it.

"Based on interviews with Malcolm X between 1963 and his 1965 assassination. The book explores Malcolm X’s philosophies and his evolution. I’ve reread the book once a year since college and have found myself just as moved each time as the first reading."

I received a free ARC of this book from NetGalley for an unbiased opinion.

Brantz's comics are quick and adorable, and for me completely relatable. This book is definitely getting recommended to my friends as a pick me up and giggle book. From illustrations based on daily life to dating life to social interactions, she's included it all.

he topic for this months book club pick, was a book made into a movie. And since I bought this book years ago I thought I would read it.
What a disappointment.
I thought it was going to be loosely based on the classic novel by Jane Austen, when in actuality it's her novel word for word, but with a few zombies thrown in for good measure....oh and also ninjas, because that makes sense.
I thought this book had quite a good sense of premise about it, but come on get a bit of originality.
I wouldn't particularly reccomend this book.
