Dont try and piece together any semblance of a coherent storyline here, just sit back and let it happen is what I told myself whilst taking in this over the top Danny Trejo vehicle.
One thing going for it is that it never tries to be something it isn't and is of the pulp grindhouse nature that means thin plot and lots of blood and incoherent dialogue which you will absolutely love or loath, I was somewhere firmly in the middle.

A Vampire's Embrace (Blood Rose Time Travel #2) by Caris Roane
A Vampire's Embrace is the second book in the Blood Rose Time Travel series, and we meet up with Rez and Holly as they become the latest pair that the Invictus target. This world is firmly established, and yet Caris Roane has managed to introduce a new set of rules to their world - that of time-pathing. Only a certain few have this talent, and Holly is one of them. She has been pushed hard by Vojalie but still has things to learn. One thing she doesn't need to learn about though, is Rez. Holly thinks that she knows him, the same as he thinks that he knows her. Both of these are in for the shock of their lives as they realise that the real them is very different from what the other thought.

With a fast pace and steamy situations, it was with delight that I found the softer, more gentle, side of Rez and his quest to find his missing daughter. This was exceedingly well written, with enough angst to make it real, rather than overly dramatic. There were no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow. I would totally recommend not only this book, and the first one is this series, but the whole Blood Rose set. With characters mentioned from previous stories, you will definitely be in for a treat as you enter their world.

Blood Courtesans Boxed Set: Awakenings
Welcome to the world of the Blood Courtesan. If you are not aware, this is a series by Michelle Fox that starts with Reborn: Myra. This box set is all set in the same world, but with a multitude of stories by different authors, all putting their slant on Michelle Fox's world.

I won't review each story separately, instead my review is of the box set as a whole. As with all box sets, some of the stories stand out more than others. HOWEVER, they are all good! I thoroughly enjoyed every single one of them. If I had to choose a favourite though, on pain of being bitten (and not in a good way), then I would choose Concealed: Lexi by Rosalie Redd. This story simply grabbed me as I do so love a tortured hero and strong heroine. This story ticked all the right boxes for me.

Every story in this collection was exceptionally written, with a multitude of characters and situations. There should be enough to keep everyone happy! There were no editing or grammatical errors in any of the stories that disrupted my reading flow. I loved how each story was completely different from the others, just being linked by the Blood Courtesans.

For those that haven't yet stepped into this world, I can highly recommend it. And a box set is a perfect place to start. Absolutely recommended by me.

How to marry a millionaire Vampire ( love at stake book 1)
By Kerrelyn Sparks

Roman Draganesti is charming, handsome, rich ... he's also a vampire. But this vampire just lost one of his fangs sinking his teeth into something he shouldn't have. Now he has one night to find a dentist before his natural healing abilities close the wound, leaving him a lop-sided eater for all eternity.

Things aren't going well for Shanna Whelan, either. After witnessing a gruesome murder, she's next on the mob's hit list. And her career as a dentist appears to be on a downward spiral because she's afraid of blood. When Roman rescues her from an assassination attempt, she wonders if she's found the one man who can keep her alive. Though the attraction between them is immediate and hot, can Shanna conquer her fear of blood to fix Roman's fang? And if she does, what will prevent Roman from using his fangs on her ... ?

I wanted to like this more than I did! I like some of the ideas in the book and I suppose that’s what kept me listening! Maybe I should have read the book rather than listen as the narrator was just bloody awful with accents and voices!! A lot of the dialog was a bit corny and my go if I heard the word Gods blood one more time my tablet was going up the wall!! I don’t usually leave reviews under 3 stars but I think if people read the book instead of listen too it they may have a better experience!
