"Old School,” is my favorite fictional depiction of boarding school (yes, including “Prep,” my own novel). These episodic, story-like chapters set at a boys’ school in the early 1960s are knowing and hilarious and poignant."

A wonderful tale
If you like traditional boarding school stories you will probably enjoy this book. Unlike most books of this genre it starts with the school being set up and how it grows.

"As a former goth chick who went to an all-girls boarding school, Peter Weir’s dreamy 1975 film pushed all my buttons when I first saw it sometime in the mid-eighties. Romantic, mysterious, tragic: check, check, and check!"

My all time favourite book! The descriptions are so beautiful and it really makes you think about what it is to be human. What defines us as human? It is a dystopian book yet set in a very familiar, country boarding school setting.

"Alongside Watership Down, this taught me that I had to leave home. (Children who bounced balls in synchronous time were not free. Rabbits who had all they wanted to eat were being bred for slaughter.) Read, age 11 while at Carlekemp Priory Boarding School, North Berwick, Scotland."

"I love the way Curtis Sittenfeld writes. It feels personal and immediate. And in this, her debut novel, she tells the story of a lower middle class Lee Fiora navigating her way through an elite boarding school. Sittenfeld’s observations are razor-edged, dark, and brazenly funny."

A good typical early 90's action film. A group of terrorists take hostages at the local boarding school where the kids have some very important parents. It has some good action scenes and a well assembled cast. If you missed this before it's well worth a watch.

Beastars, Volume 1 was interesting. I liked it, but am not sure how the story will progress. It's a manga about animal students in a boarding school, and what happens when a tragedy strikes. The animal students are divided into herbivores and carnivores, so there are immediate issues at stake.
