Just finished devouring ep 2/S2 of 'True Blood'. Took me long enough to sink my fangs into it. (Pun fully intended).

Now off to bed for some not so light reading.
I am currently absorbed in 'The Handmaid's Tale' by Margaret Atwood. Powerful, disturbing, compelling and utterly heart wrenching.

I finished watching the tv series last week which is absolutely brilliant.
A must watch for those interested in dystopian and New World Order themes.
Definitely influened by George Orwell's classic 'Big Brother' totalitarian novel, '1984'.

I decided to listen to this book after my brother got me hooked on watching the TV show Parks and Rec. I thought that Amy had a fun storytelling voice and the tales are funny and interesting. My favorite parts were definitely those that were related to Parks and Rec. Stories about the cast and some really great behind the scenes facts. I didn’t always find myself being able to relate to Amy or sharing her humor, but overall I really enjoyed the read.

"You may recognize Diane Guerrero’s name from Orange Is the New Black and Jane the Virgin, but her memoir is about the tragedy that struck her in her childhood. When she was just 14 year old, she came home to discover that her parents and brother had been arrested and were being deported back to Columbia. Diane got to stay in the US because she was born here. At a time when immigrants are living in more fear than ever, Guerrero’s book is a must-read."
