MissCagey (2652 KP) rated The Dressmaker (2016) in Movies

Lovely quirky, comedic film. Kate Winslet is brilliant as usual. Her character returns as a bright and lively talented dress maker in a village full of drab, petty-minded, snooty people . Hugo Weaving's portrayal of a camp, dress loving police sergeant had me in stitches. I had never heard of this film but I don't know why it wasn't more popular.

Percy and his friends must travel through the ever changing labyrinth of Daedalus to try to save their camp. The action and use of Greek myth was still fun, but it felt very formulaic after reading the first three in the series.

Micky Barnard (542 KP) rated The 5th Wave: Book 1 in Books
Sep 30, 2018
Questions, questions. Where's Evan? What happened to the camp? Ben and Cassie? Cassie and Evan? Will anyone get their real name back? Where are they going?
A gripping read with a scifi and dystopian feel. I had no idea cover to cover who to trust, who were good guys and bad guys. So much potential going into the next book.
