Thank you to Sterling Keyes for the opportunity to read and review her book. This is the second book in the Shimmer Pointe series and it was just as good as the first. The stories are short(I read this one in less than an hour) and grab you right from the start.
Even though this book is short, it is chock full of interesting stuff. Love, kids, the beach, food, and even a hostage situation. There is never a dull moment in Shimmer Pointe. I'm intrigued to find out what is going to happen next with Eve and Justin as well as Charlotte and Theo. Will their love grow to marriage and growing families, or is this where their story ends. We shall wait to see.

But no in a gaming world full of call of duty’s and battle royales this game is a joy to play.
It’s a game that for me personally after a long time of search is a game full of what it was to play games when I was younger. It exudes joy and fun that I haven’t experienced in a long time,
The Graphics are beautiful and the best of a Mario game yet and the gameplay is so simple that you, your grandma or your great great grandma can pick it up and play without any issue at all all thanks to the simple mode that has kindly been included in the game.
For me it’s a straight 9/10 if you have a switch (and a soul) it is a must buy for you.

Awix (3310 KP) rated War of the Worlds (2005) in Movies

Still, it's not all bad: looking back on it, this is yet another of those films which attempts to use SF as a device to try and process the September 11th attacks and ends up not being nearly as profound as it thinks it is, and the way it's structured so that, hey, cities are smashed and thousands slaughtered by the Martians (look, they could be Martians, it doesn't say they're not), but at least Cruise gets to become a better dad, so it's not all bad news, is quite fatuous. But it does get closer to Wells' original intent, just about, it looks very good, and there's always Spielberg's casual mastery of the genre to enjoy. A decent stab at a book which probably isn't as easy to adapt as it first appears.

The characters are incredible the strategy and tactics part is quite good and has a variety of levels for casual up to very serious players. The story is absolutely amazing and the animation is also excellent.
if you don't have this game, you should buy it and play it. If you don't have a 3 DS, you should buy it so that you can play this game. It's that good!

Steve Fearon (84 KP) rated A Party with Socialists in It: A History of the Labour Left in Books
Sep 11, 2018
This book is very much a left-wing view of Labour's history, and does a good job of describing the main flag bearers and saboteurs of the worker focused socialist movements.
It helps trace the current Labour makeup back through the ages, via Benn, Bevan etc and gives a very good account of the many internal battles and compromises that took place through the 20th Century as the various power plays and world events echo Game Of Thrones at times.
Its also an important indicator of where power has corrupted idealogues of the past, and how it is often the working people that are the ones that pay the price for hubris (I am looking at you Kinnock!).
One for politico's only, not a casual read, but if you have an interest, do please check it out, there is a lot here to gain!

Christine A. (965 KP) rated The Rumour in Books

I try to write my review soon after reading each book. Because it took so long for me to finish reading The Rumor by Lesley Kara, I needed time to process my thoughts before writing this review.
In The Rumor, a mom hears a rumor outside her son's school. Her casual comment repeating the rumor was not intended to be a big deal. However, once something is said, it is impossible to take it back. Words run faster than people ever could. Words travel faster than the speed of light.
I enjoyed the beginning of the book but reached a point where I kept having to put it down. I do not know why because I liked the writing style and the story. I think it might be because I felt the middle was too long.
I am glad I finished it because I did enjoy the last few chapters. Many reviews thoroughly liked the novel and I did not have to invoke the "50-page rule" so it is worth reading.
This was Lesley Kara's debut novel. Her next one, Who Did You Tell, is due out in 2020 and I have added it to my "want to read" list.
