Got me back into reading
I was an avid reader when I was younger. Nowadays I work hard and switch my brain off at night when possible. I wanted to make better use of my time and this app has really got me back into reading.

I set myself a target of 15 books in a year and I'm on target to get there. Its interesting to see other people's ratings of the books I've read and rewarding to see the bar creep up.

As well as the challenge bar the progress bar for each book has been essential for motivating me to pick a book back up.. And maybe its just me, but I don't like to record a book as read if I haven't finished it. Not read any real howlers this year though.

All and all a great app. Helps me remember what I've read for more than 5 seconds as well.

You have to be a real man to wear tights!
Cary Elwes stars a robin hood in this comical retelling of the legendary hero who after returning to England after fighting in the crusades and then being captured, enslaved only to escape from prison in Jerusalem and seim home to England (what a guy ;) ) to find that the evil Prince John (Richard Lewis) has confiscated his family estate and is following the script and ruining Nottingham. Robin enlists his family's loyal blind servant Blinkin (Mark Blankfield), Will Scarlett O'Hara (Matthew Porretta) and Little John (Eric Allan Kramer) to help rebel. Robin also hopes to woo the beautiful Maid Marian (Amy Yasbeck), but her chastity belt may prove a challenge (and her keeper)

Great jokes, Mel Brooks, hilarious performances, subtle nods and a robin hood who can speak with an England accent.

A classic spoof on the legend who had it coming.

The Lighthouse (2019)
The Lighthouse (2019)
2019 | Drama, Horror
Distinctively weird period horror movie. Two men are posted to operate a remote lighthouse off the New England coast. One of them is young and inexperienced; the other is old and annoying. Isolation, terrible weather, and perhaps something else all take their toll; there is madness in the air.

Another one of those really peculiar art-house takes on a genre movie that Robert Pattinson seems to enjoy doing: God knows what his take on Batman is going to end up like. I imagine that not many stranger films than this will get a major release this year, but it is still an impressive piece of film-making: well-played, very atmospheric, with strong performances. In the end it's kind of up to the viewer to work out what's really going on in this movie, but the challenge is worth the effort. In the end this resembles Steptoe and Son as written by H. P. Lovecraft; not quite as awesome as that sounds, but still very watchable.

Thank God I'm not the only one!
Just like with here first book, Sarah has done another great job being refreshingly honest about the realities as life as a mum.
She knows not all mum's experience parenthood like she does, but for those of us who have found it more of a challenge than we anticipated, it is so nice to have others say the same.
This one has the odd sniping from her social media feeds, a bit by the man behind the mum, and even a chapter from one of the boys perspective.
My main issue with is my only reading time is when (if) my baby naps, so I need to sit quietly, and this book has made me laugh out loud and nearly woken him up on several occasions. I mean, it's like she did not take that into consideration 😂.
What the hell do I read now?!?!

The Comedy of Terrors- It is a blend of comedy and horror which features several cast members from Tales of Terror, made by AIP the year before. Its funny, hilarious, laugh of loud, terrorfying and scary. Plus you have both Vincent Price and Boris Karloff which is a hugh plus in my books. Two iconic legend horror actors.

The plot: Waldo Trumbull (Vincent Price) is an amoral undertaker in 19th-century New England who takes to murdering people to have enough cash to support his drinking habit. Desperate for money after a widow stiffs him for a burial, Trumbull and his assistant, Gillie (Peter Lorre), decide to kill the wealthy Mr. Black (Basil Rathbone), their landlord, to whom they're indebted. But murdering Black proves to be quite a challenge, as he seems to keep recovering from death every time they do him in.

Its a classic movie, with two horror icons and mixs horror with comedy.
