Contemporary MM Romance
It’s set in a world that we all know a little about. A Covid-19-type virus, except far more severe, breaks out and social panic ensues. Society goes ion to lockdown, hospitals are unable to cope with the sheer volume of cases, and the army is drafted in to keep order. Shops are looted, food is rationed, people die horrifically.
Edith Harkness looks back on her life as she prepares to enter the last stages of Long-Nonovirus. It’s a much more serious version of Long-Covid, where the affected person dies. Edith looks back on her life, from her childhood where she lives with her brain-damaged mother, to her years of study and consequent art prizes, and then her time in lockdown with her lover, a Bulgarian Turk.
It’s a book about love, sex, desire, illness, caring, family and grief. Those are some big topics for a slim book, but it’s beautifully told.
Now I need to read some more Sarah Hall books.

Lee KM Pallatina (951 KP) rated Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021) in Movies
Dec 19, 2021
Is the second coming of the alien symbiote that focuses primarily on the angry and fragile friendship between Venom and Eddie Brock.
Eddie is still struggling to co-exist with the shape-shifting alien symbiote as well as the break up with his ex Ann (at least for now it would seem) and inserting the very distant and restrained relationship between serial killer Cletus Kasady and his childhood orphanage sweetheart (plot filler) as Cletus brings Carnage to life as they agree to kill Venom, which basically concludes the plot?
The story seems very empty as does Woody Harrelsons performance (unusual for WH)
but does also seem to work well regardless.
Tom Hardys performance is spot on again and the Communication between Venom and Eddie is hilarious throughout.
More fantastic special effects are there as expected and a decent end battle reminiscent to that of its predecessor that end this movie perfectly (post credit scene is awesome)

It's a beautifully written story. There are some sex scenes in there, a couple are a bit harsh, but the majority are soft and sensual. I didn't quite expect the ending to go how it did and I was hoping for a bit more to be honest. Fair enough, the villain got what he deserved but I was expecting it to go in a different direction. There is a lot of detail in the writing but it seems rushed almost as you get towards the end, like I've got details to get down, I'll cram it all in now. That's the only bit that disappointed me to be honest.
I would still recommend this book

The Demonic ( Supernatural Horror book 1)
By Lee Mountford
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Danni thought she knew fear…
But this house will show her what it is to be truly afraid.
Called back to a childhood home, she must lay to rest a father that made her life hell. But something else waits for her in that house. Something far beyond what she could possibly imagine. Restless spirits and an insidious demon ensure this homecoming is one of nightmares.
Can Danni save her family… and her very soul? To do so, she must face the ghosts of her past as well as an ancient and malevolent evil.
You will love this haunted house novel, because who really needs to sleep at night?
So to get the most out of this book read it during the night in the pitch black! Well that’s what I did 😂 got to admit a few times I actually got seriously spooked and had some crazy dreams! A really good haunting of the demonic. I really enjoy Lee’s books another brilliant British horror writer.
