A strong cast struggle to survive amid the special effects and implausible twists in the latest version of the giant gorilla classic
Critic Review By Wendy Ide - The Guardian
Original Score: 3 out of 5
Excerpt:
...it’s enjoyable enough, if a little overblown. However, despite the quality of actors – Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson star, alongside John C Reilly – the characters are not quite as nuanced as you might hope.

Raw aggression (2 more)
Clear vocals
Deep bass
Iconic album
Featuring the huge hit Insane in the brain. My favourite track is actually Lick a shot. The mix of fast beats, deep bass and aggressive vocals with lyrics you can clearly make out make this one of the best rap albums around. The similar themes of the tracks also mean they blend together perfectly from one track to the next. If you like Rap with deep bass you have to get this album. It's a classic.

A Perfect Movie
I grew up watching this film literally hundreds of times as a kid and adult. It is what I believe to be "the perfect film". The evidence speaks for itself:
1. The pacing of the film is perfect
2. The story is great!
3. The movie has brilliant comedic writing
4. The characters are likable, fun, and well rounded
5. Is one of the most quotable films in history
6. It's a classic that's actually a good movie

A story about a spoilt sociopath
Contains spoilers, click to show
I have to say I found Lizzie Borden's character is detestable even though there were instances where her father's harsh behaviour showed. She is manipulative and spoilt, a classic sociopath and while the murderer is never openly stated, it seems very likely she had a hand in it. I felt extremely sorry for her elder sister Emma, who seems to have to put up with her behaviour. Either way, I don't feel this novel added much to this infamous tale.

Magical
This is another installment in Kendra's story. Kendra is an immortal witch who has a tendency to get involved in everything. This book is the story of her and her beloved weaved in with classic stories that have new twists.
Alex Flinn has an amazing talent. I love how she changes stories and gives them new life. In this book Kendra's story is important, but it's not always the main focus. She never outshines the other characters. Overall this was just a really great book.

I quite enjoy films about a totally weird string of events that occur during a road trip or one wild night like this. This reminded me of After hours crossed with Dude where's my car? A stoner comedy that has a bit of something for most people and a good chemistry between the leads. It has a few good cast cameos too. Funny enough for a watch, not sure about being a classic. Oh and over here (UK) it's called Harold and Kumar get the munchies!

This film is HILARIOUS!!
I swear i was so ready to hate this. Im not a fan of jack black or The Rock, but the kids wanted to see it and I’m a huge Dr Who fan so gave it a go in support of Karen Gillan.
I was proved so wrong!! I dont want to give away anything but it is just so funny! A modern take on a classic movie with loads if genuine LOL moments ??

I picked up this book a few years ago, solely because of the beautiful and creepy Penguin Deluxe Classic edition cover. I was not disappointed, the book was also creepy beautiful.
The town described in this book reminded me of the small village my grandmother lives in, to include the bizarre mob-mentality. The atmosphere invoked is creepy and intriguing. You're left wondering until the very end what exactly happened, and the things left unsaid are telling. Overall, a terrifyingly excellent book that I plan on rereading.

Way too serious!
If you liked the original George Lucas classic, you may not like its very serious sequel.
Instead of cruising having a good time with your friends before you are off to college, the main characters deal with issues like the Vietnam war, protests and the peace movement.
The music is still great and there is a very funny cameo scene; however, it is not enough to save this film which just gets the tone completely wrong.
