This is a cute little kids' comic that is both fun and has some good messages. It has some surprisingly deep concepts, such as animal testing, PTSD, and agoraphobia, but touches on them in a light way so not to disturb children (hopefully). I abhor animal testing so this probably bothers me more than it would a child, although it is aliens doing the testing in the book. Besides that, the characters are cute and well-represented, the drawings are nice and clear, and the colors are vibrant and fun. A very cute book that could be expanded into a series.

Avengers Assembled is a film filled with amazing performances, great special effects and fantastic direction from long-time comic-book fan, Joss Whedon. He manages to craft a great film and considering the size of the cast, that’s no easy feat.

It lets itself down throughout the finale in which the audience is subjected to a Transformers-style alien invasion across New York City that could have been lifted straight out of any Michael Bay-directed flick. A great end to Phase One of the MCU, but not the classic everyone remembers it being.

Fun
This movie was pretty much what I expected it to be - a little cheesy, but with some cool effects. They did well with the monsters - although it seemed strange that two of the three creatures developed more than just size and aggression while the gorilla just got bigger/stronger/ more aggressive but was otherwise the same(watch and see what I mean). Anyway, the acting was pretty good and the cinematography was, too. Overall this was a fun, entertaining movie that could be watched with the whole family. Plenty of action, some bloody stuff(nothing too nasty) and a good dose of comic relief. Worth a watch!

My personal favourite of the Indiana Jones films, due largely to the comic repartee between Harrison Ford's Indiana Jones and Sean Connery as his father, Henry Jones Senior.

This is the one that starts with a flash-back to Indy's early years (with River Phoenix taking on the role of the young Indiana), showing how he got the scar, his fear of snakes and this hat and bullwhip, before moving on to the late 1930s (1938, I think) with Indiana hired to find his dad, who has gone missing on the trail of a holy relic: the cup of Christ, the legendary Holy Grail itself.

Stunning!
Been excited to see this one since I saw the trailer on YouTube. Cameron and Rodriguez bringing the comic to life got my nerdiness in a tizzy. And the movie didn't disappoint. The film is beautifully shot. The locations and characters feel real. Was able to watch the 3D version, which only added to the beauty and detail. The ending seemed a bit tacked on and rushed but overall this was a fun ride, led by the stunning title character whose eyes lock you in from the opening and never let you go. Would recommend.
