Ahhh part of the Rat pack in this great teen love story. Ringwald and Hall are funny and dramatic in this love story of a girl who wants nothing more than the hottest guy in school and Hall as the extreme king of the nerds who really wants to to be popular and be noticed. It kind of has a Cinderella kind of feel to it with out the glass slipper. This directors movies is a lot of what I grew up on. Sixteen candles id full love laughs and crazy family fun.
I am so sad I waited so long to start this series. The covers always lead me to believe it was very high fantasy and I am not a fan of that. Lo and behold I adore this book. The switching of perspectives can be crazy hard to follow but at the same time I really enjoying getting a peek at what everyone thinks/is doing. It creates such a complete picture that you can really see each character as being real and tangible instead of just outside help along char.

There was a lot of filler in this book. The story could have been told without the repetitive descriptions of how hot Gideon Cross is or how beautiful Eva is and how they are each so lucky to have the other. With this being the fourth book in the series, I think we've heard this all enough before. We get it, they are two beautiful, messed up people, envied by all around them, desired by all, and they fill the crazy, messed up holes in each others' lives.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2357 KP) rated Death of a Trophy Wife (A Jaine Austen Mystery, #9) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Freelance writer Jaine Austen is trying to land The Mattress King as a new client when his much younger wife is murdered at a party she is giving. Considering she wasn't well liked, Jaine is surprised when her neighbor is accused of the crime. Can Jaine clear him? The mystery was a little too familiar here, but the jokes and crazy situations kept me turning pages in this fast read.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2357 KP) rated Down the Rabbit Hole (Echo Falls, #1) in Books

13-year-old Ingrid solves the murder of the crazy lady in her town after realizing she is the last one to see the victim alive. Aimed at teens, and they will probably enjoy it more then I did. I found the characters real but the plot very slow. What really bothered me was all the sneaking around and law breaking Ingrid did to solve the mystery.

Dana (24 KP) rated Sir Gawain and the Green Knight in Books

I very much enjoyed this novel. Not only do I love Arthurian tales, I love ones with weird storylines. I really like how this was written by some unknown guy and was only recently rediscovered. (well recent-ish). This translation is great because it has the crazy Middle English along with the modern English translation on facing pages. This makes it easier to use both wordings to analyze. If you enjoy reading romantic/Arthurian stories, pick this one up! I am really glad I had to read this for one of my classes!

Dork_knight74 (881 KP) rated The House On Pine Street (2016) in Movies

I found this one on Amazon. It's a haunted house style "horror" movie. The acting is pretty weak and the story is not scary or anything even remotely close to it. The cinematography is mediocre. It's about a pregnant woman who keeps having strange things happen in her new house and no one else does or believes her and they tell her she's crazy. They have one character try to explain things toward the end of the movie but it's an extremely weak explanation. Overall this movie just isn't very good. NOT worth a watch.

This drama/ thriller on Netflix(not exclusive) want too bad. The cinematography and acting were just ok, but the story was creepy enough to keep your interest. It's a "crazy babysitter" movie. I don't give the ending away but it definitely would make you double think who you leave your kids with in a night out. The kids were cute sings did pretty well for their ages. The main character(babysitter) definitely played the "creepy" part well, too. This one isn't the greatest film you'll see but it's worth a watch.

The MI franchise is a very reliable franchise, I've really enjoyed watching every single MI film, and I do think that they keep getting better. Though the run time was hefty, I was enthralled the whole time. I liked how they worked in Ethan Hunt's ex-wife (it was in the trailers, therefore not a spoiler), it worked very well.Tom Cruise is, of course, balls to the wall crazy about these stunts, and it makes it fun to watch.
Though, let's be serious, Tom Cruise beating Henry Cavill? Get real.
